Are deep sea crates still a thing?

There's a bunch of youtube videos showing the coords for deep sea crates, they don;t appear to have any better loot than regular red loot crates. I've looted a few and gotten nothing that special on a server with 5 crate quality.

Yes I have looted 3 of them. The loot so far has been quite average as opposed to the loot drops on land which have clearly been buffed.

I have looted a handful as well. It is like they switched the loot tables for land drops with the deep sea loot crates. I only need so many ascendant torches.....

I just tested spawning in around 20 and the loot is indeed ♥♥♥♥.

Lots of hide and low quality metal tool BPs.

Sometimes you get fabricator items, but most times it's hide armors, low qual metal tools, low level/quality saddles or low qual fabricator items.

Locations are the same, but coordinates are different now since the coordinates aren't 1-1.

They are NOT worth chasing. Better doing the underwater caves instead.

I was messing with the new Sub mod and i came across 2 ocean floor loot chests.

I looted 3 today on Official. Apprentice Shotgun, Ramshackle Hide Shirt Bp, Journeyman Tuso Saddle Bp, were among the items looted. I've looted dozens total and it doesn't get any better, so if your not spending a lot of time in the water anyways, then they are not worth it.

Loot is trash not sure why they are even in the game. You won't make any gains by looking for them
