lost ALL progress

Has this happened to anyone else? I save quite frequently because crash simulator but after shutting my computer off for the night and rebooting this morning, EVERYTHING is gone.
I even had to create a new character so nothing is left. How can I prevent this from happening?

update : i was not using any mods at all.

I heard from the admin of my unofficial server that if you have mods, and one of them breaks, it can delete everything from your character to all inventory / items owned. So the admin refuses to use mods till they become stable enough to not delete things once they break. This could be your issue, if not i dont know what else, haven't heard anything like that before.

yeah my save of 70 hours got corrupted i was about to do bosses i had a rex breeding pair a giga charcaro and so much more and when it corrupted i backed it up and it deleted the rest of my save sucks that bugs like this exist and probably wont be fixed for a while i hope i dont lose this save

Copy complete folder with content
\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\ARK Survival Ascended\ShooterGame\Saved
from time to time or all 15 minutes to another folder on harddisk.
Then you can restore saves and configuration just by copying back the things to the original.
You can copy this during gaming, when ARK runs. But you should restore it only if the game is shut down.

There is multiple save files stored every 15 minutes by default in your local ark folder. You can rollback a save if your main save gets corrupted just by changing the backup names to the main name. Mods are not what is causing your saves to corrupt its crashes causing it.

Thats not just game related, that can be anything. Sudden power outages on a computer can corrupt all kinds of data. It can even corrupt windows. Its why its always important to be able to shut down computers properly and in the normal way. Of course power outages don't give you that choice but losing saved data due to a power outage is not a unique thing to ARK.
