How to save console commands
I like to play with the volumetric clouds off and I like to lower the height of the grass by half but I have to enter the commands ever time I restart the game. is there currently any way for these commands to be automatically applied to the game?

You can try to include the commands inside the file game.ini (in folder ARK Survival Ascended\ShooterGame\Saved\Config\Windows) at the end of the file.
ARK must be closed before editing the file!
You need an appropriate headline to put the commands under this, for example for GAME.INI:
[/script/engine.renderersettings]
r.Streaming.PoolSize=0
r.Nanite.MaxPixelsPerEdge=2
r.Shadow.Virtual.Enable=0

[/script/engine.systemsettings]
r.VolumetricCloud.ViewRaySampleMaxCount=64
r.VolumetricRenderTarget.Mode=3
r.VolumetricCloud=0
r.VolumetricFog=0
Grass.enable=0

The "=" is mandatory in the files.
Idk if your grass command belongs to [...systemsettings] or to [...rendersettings], you need to test.
This may work for the grass, but it will not work for the volumetricclouds. I tried this already but the volumetriccloud=0 command is the only one, which do not work. Always need to be entered manual in the console of the running game.

Thank you I'll try this right away :)

well I have tested many different settings and found that my system will play on High with these settings changed each time I start ASA .
r.Fog 0 | grass.densityscale .5 | grass.sizescale .5 | r.VolumetricFog 0 | r.VolumetricCloud 0

as you said I could never get VolumetricCloud to stay saved. so I just copy and past those settings in every time I start the game.

Even with those settings I never get above 48FPS but it stays at 48 pretty much all the time so its playable... kind of LOL.

I don't have a slouch of a system either I'm running a 13gen i9 and a 4700 so I'm waiting for someone somewhere to optimize the game lol. Its Early Access with a new shiny engine so I k now it can't get any worse then the state that its in now lol

Here's hoping for Optimization in the near future... Maybe... I hope...

r.ShadowQuality 0 (disables all shadows)
r.SkyAtmosphere 0
r.VolumetricCloud 0
