That said make sure you have your setting for max difficulty on (if single player). I know mines on and working only because of a level 130 dodo I killed, before which I wondered myself if maybe I made a mistake on setup.
1-50 = 68 wild creatures
55-100 = 20 wild creatures
105-150 = 4 wild creatures
So the chance of finding high levels is extremely rare, it is not equal chance to find a lvl 150 as a lvl 5.
But to see that the levels work you just need to check the levels of the creatures you find. You should see creatures that are 5,10,15,20 etc. If they follow that format then you should have 150 spawn also but very rare.
