dedicated server not working
anyone have any suggestions on how i might get this to work?
i have installed the ark dedicated server and run it.
i have opened ports 7777,7778,8888 and 27015.
i have also allowed those ports through my firewall and set a static ip on the computer running the server.
i cannot find the server in unoffical server tab.
i have also tried opening up command and running "open 192.168.x.xxx:777" this doesnt work either.
i have tried running it via a method i found here : https://youtu.be/-c6T97wkY38?si=qUJ73OTETXwIoLSQ
i cant get this to work, im pulling my hair out!

any help would be greatly appreciated....

Yes, by installing the Epic Root certificate. Everything about it is here in the Ark wiki. Of course, you have to forward the ports in the router at home, etc. You are at home locally. And in the Windows firewall of the server computer.

remember check if you're server is running battle eye or not and then in the game client make sure the box to show protected and password servers is checked as they arn't on by default.

Try This;
goto ShooterGame/Binaries/Win64
right click on ArkAscendedServer.exe
compatability tab check box run server as administrator
also enure firewall ports in an out are correctly opened and port forwarded to the server ip in your router

wow thank you, that admin trick actually worked. still didnt show up in the server list, but i could atelast direct connect.
going to try this on my dedicated box.
thanks alot for this!
You no longer need the query port. This is completely ignored by the server. ASA no longer uses the Steam network. ASA uses the Epic Network. Nitrado servers still have a query port, but they also have a special version with an extra plugin, etc.

Many servers that are not visible or discoverable do not have the Epic https root certificate installed on the server. This is because the ASA Dedi communicates with the server list etc. via hhtps port 443. And if there is no valid SSL certificate for Epic there is no correct communication.

That was also the problem for me and many others.
And if you host the things on an external rented machine, forget about the garbage with port forwarding. Port forwarding in the router ONLY if you host on a second computer etc. at home. A rented root (Dedi) server from a provider like Hetzner etc etc. There are no routers in which you can set anything. A maximum of an external firewall via the customer menu. And the Windows Firewall on the machine.

Its no longer working, it worked once from the fix above and never again.
did you manage to overcome this situation with the epic server certificate? is there a work around?

You're welcome. I think you can mark it as the solution to your post or something. But I've never done that on Steam myself.

I've been experiencing the same issues, and installing the Epic certificates isn't making a difference.

I think my issue might be with the GameUserSettings.ini file. I don't think the ports are saving correctly. Does anyone have an example of the file?

yea its not working again.
a new epic certificate has been released, once you uninstall your old one and install new one it still doesnt work.
cant see server and cant use the open console command.
seems like alot of road blocks are put in place to run your own server, i wonder why? (sarcasm)
if anyone wants to have a crack at it, this is the link with the certificate information :
https://ark.wiki.gg/wiki/Dedicated_server_setup

please report back if you have any success.
Edit : battle metrics reports server offline "failed to respond to query"
