Upload SP data to rented server
Does anyone know if it is possible to upload a single player character/ world to my newly rented Nitrado server? I started a few days ago to test the performance before committing to renting a server. I would like to keep the small progress I made, if possible.

You should be able to since Ark just uses save data files. I am not familiar with Nitrado and whether or not you can upload save folders/files. You should reach out to their support and see if they have an official way..

Here's how it should work in theory:

Your singleplayer save data should be:
\ARK Survival Ascended\ShooterGame\Saved\SavedArksLocal\TheIsland_WP
You'll need .arktribe file, LocalPlayer.arkprofile file and the most recent .ark file (tribe, player, map). You might be able to just grab the whole folder which is best, but it depends on what can be updated.
To find ASA's location on your drive, browse local files on Steam and it'll open to ASA's install location.

You then need to get your ASA unique player ID by joining a server and having the server save your player ID. It's a 32 character hexadecimal string. Once you have that, rename your LocalPlayer.arkprofile to: <STRING>.arkprofile obviously subbing the STRING for the player ID.

Once all that's done, just upload your files to Nitrado (in theory, no idea how they work). You SHOULD reach out to Nitrado to see if they have instructions or a guide.

EDIT: Type in whoami in the console and you get your player ID. Dedicated server log shows player ID on server join.

If you have a dedicated server, you can find the save files on your server at:
\ShooterGame\Saved\SavedArks\TheIsland_WP
Mine is:
Z:\ASA\Island1\ShooterGame\Saved\SavedArks\TheIsland_WP
I just created random folders because the location doesn't matter and i was testing the setup, which worked. Too lazy to fix it :)

Hope this helps a bit, please correct me if i am wrong and i will edit/delete post if needed.

This worked perfectly, thank you! The only thing that I did not account for is, that my copied character is not the owner of my raft/ base. Items in my inventory are fine, but nothing that was built. There is a timer of seven days. Currently looking for a way to change this.

Set an admin password and relaunch the server and use:
enablecheats <PASSWORD>

then:
cheat GiveToMeAOE 99999
It SHOULD give you ownership of everything on the map.

Can also do:
cheat giveallstructure gives connected structures
and
cheat givetome (mostly for dinos).

Does using admin commands count as cheating and block achievements? I really appreciate the advice.

Nope, you can use console commands freely. Achievements are NOT affect nor will it reflect on your server in any way.

The game also keeps a log of commands you've previously run, up to like 20 i think.

No problem buddy! Reply if you need more assistance! :peeperfish:

Hey, im experiencing the same problem and tried using "whoami" but nothing comes up. Can i type this in without being an admin on the server?

Which problem is it you are facing, is it the tribe not matching?

Apologies for not being detailed when asking for help. I am attempting to complete the transfer of my local files to my nitrado server. I am stuck on the last part which is renaming my local character to the unique 32 char string but cant figure out how I am meant to get this number. I joined a server in game and attempted to do "whoami" in the console but it didnt show any kind of output.

NVM i figured it out!!! I just had to double tap the tilde key. Sorry for my silly question!

I see you figured it out by the time I replied, leaving the answer to help anyone that needs the extra details.
If you log into your online server you should have a save file in this location: "\ShooterGame\Saved\SavedArks\TheIsland_WP"
The numbers will be added to the front of the player file. I never used the "whoami" command.

Guys i got a nearly "same" problem....so i go my NitradoServer...i imported all the Singleplayer data i needed....the thing is i cant get my profile data to work....the map is ok...dinos, buildings n stuff it is all there but if i connect to the map i start as lv 1 char ....

somehow i cant get my lv 80 equipt char to work and i renamed the profile data already with the steam64 numbers in front....it just wont work...
Cr4ik Dec 2, 2023 @ 2:45pm
nvm i fixed it myself WITHOUIT the use of the steam64 id .....i just created a new char lv 1

then walked a bit...also died...respawned and just quit the game...so a new userprofile data was created on the server (the only on yet since i deleted every other profiledata) then i took the number and letters from that newly created profiledata a wrote THOSE on my wanted userprofile data instead of the steam 64 id.....erase the lv 1 char trash and copy the old lv 80 wanted save into he server folder and WIN !

ASA doesn't use Steam64. Is uses EOS ID's which you can find by typing in "whoami" in singleplayer or checking dedicated server logs when a player joins.

I've personally had no issues replacing file names.

Thank you so much for this. Just got my SP moved over to another PC running dedicated. You're a star.
