Yeah im pretty sure they told them to make a trailer and promote the game not dictate what was in said promotion/trailer
AI always ran away when it was about to die/go down from tranqs. It's what made tranqing some birds an absolute pain in the butt.
2. On Servers the Dinos are super dumb. Latency must be a part of the cause. Raptors can be circled and killed with a basic spear without getting a hit - they are attacking air and react very strange - like they are drunk.
So the best experience you get on Local Game at the moment. Serverplay is not really working that well.
Buddy "I was following orders" excuse is a no go. Actions got consequences. Snail games own SWC, but swc is responsible that doesn't absolve from responsibility. Was it snailgames that lied meshing would be fixed with this remaster. Was it snail games posting on twitter it would be free update. Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to say snailgames is good or anything, but saying its only their fault and SWC is just a victim you were not around ark enough buddy.
Been trekking across the map with a Paracer mobile base with a Spino dragging behind for a few hours now. Some babysitting required, but within acceptable limits, I'd say. When dinos get stuck now, they usually attempt to find alternate paths, and mostly succeed.
For me the AI is about the biggest upgrade from the original game. Still hoping it'll get even better during the EA phase.
I'm playing a solo server, and have 4 Dilos. Whenever I have 2 or more follow me their ai breaks. They constantly get stuck on everything going out of their way to walk into random objects. Ive cleared paths for them to run away and get stuck away from the path to me. Getting near water ruins them more. They constantly start to ignore my commands and just run in circles. There was no enemies nearby to cause their ai to follow either.
Yup. My favorite is when dinos path find around things they shouldn't. Baby argy on follow? Can't path through doors/gates! Have a fence foundation down? Dino has to path find outside and around your entire base!
They didn't even bother to fix flyer AI. They just fly straight... like ffs.
ive not yet seen a baby Argy .. but i have tamed a baby/juvi seagull.. icthi-whatcha-ma-call-it. killed the parent (Its a Holy Edict at this point..) and then noticed the fluff ball in the air. E to tame.. and done.
** also on the Pathing. take a couple of tames, make a pen at Red obelisk put one of the large tames inside and make sure it is set to follow Dino B. take Dino B to Green Obelisk and have it stay there. fly back to Red and release Dino A. As long as you stay in render it will path all the way over to Green... some hang ups and circles but without guidance..
ive had some issues where getting stuck on a rock or terrain wall has locked them into place, but still much better than ASE. Also .. tricking them into traps seems harder, its like they realize and then avoid. (not saying you cant trap .. they just evade a bit more within limits)
It is true that the ai needs to be tightened up abit, in it's decision making, the main cause of the confused spinning.. but in general the ai pathing is very much improved. To a certain degree traps are now useless.. but that just means we need to design them better.
Ai will try to problem solve to path to you.. but it's easily outsmarted, it doesn't follow flyers very well, wild dinos that is, until they land.. it basically can't see them when out of range in the air, but it will still do the rock climbing sneak attack if you aren't paying attention.
The Giga's favourite instant kill move.
For dessert
very badly optimized, keep playing with the old one, you won't miss anything
