Large area

is there any flat area on the map i could lay like a 20x20 or even 20x10 foundations down? I wanna make a big building to store dinos in. I'm trying on the southern peninsula that I know a lot of people build on but there is always one spot thats too low or too high. I know you can clear out herbivore island but I want something connected to land.

There is an explorer note at: 43.10, 81.51

Check out a few spots around there. This is flat and a very popular spot, so probably already taken.

My base is at lat 42.8 lon 81.5 (east of redwood, south of the east mountain).
It is a HUGE flat area with some ruins in the middle. It is elevated so getting a better view of things.
I put 3 behemoth gates on the ramps up here and then spiked walls around the edge and put foundations around the area to block spawns. I think I had 2 argentavis fly in, I am considering putting up some turrets to shoot down any that come here just in case.

It is the best area I seen so far and it is close to rex spawn, alpha raptor spawn and supply drops are not too far away and since it is quite far north on the map it is close to everything important.

The only negative thing is that it is a little distance to water, although it is water nearby that could be connected and a straight easy path to the east to get to the coast.

Yes, those ruins are where that explorer note is that I mentioned in the post above yours :)

So did you get that spot right after the server started? That seems to maybe be the most popular spot. You can even get to it within an hour of starting the game on a server if you know which spawn to use (a medium one on the NE coast).

I know it isn't what you asked but using pillars and ceilings you can make any spot flat enough to big platforms. I was against it at first but grown to like using them

theres several big flat areas in ascended, way more then ASE island

if you tap in the console

show InstancedFoliage

you make every tree and rock invisible
pair with

grass.enable 0

to remove the grass and now you can see all the terrain floor and look for flatest spots while you fly around with the command "fly"
