No, I really don't. Because that's simply not true.
The Mods Browser is working just fine because there is no request for a server being sent.
this is only Client -> WebServer -> Client for your own game.
Steam support the connexion to Ark Ascended login server and has nothing to do beside that. And even if you use Epic Online Services, you would still have the problem with the mods not loading on the server, because it is the request sent to CurseForge services that is not working..
You just continue to make yourself fall into a hole. Have Fun.
It needed to be done, and I am likely the eldest in the room. =P
But much of the game's connection runs through Steam. And, allegedly, through EOS, to the point where the game is unplayable if you can't connect to EOS (though I haven't confirmed this). The client and server communicate a variety of data this way. Unless you've actually worked on the game code, you really don't know what's being communicated, and what weird bugs could have occurred.
And, funnily enough, even people who actually do work on game code often don't realize there was a connection that really didn't make sense. I've seen hundreds, if not thousands, of occasions when a problem with a "totally unrelated" service caused massive outages in the service everyone is concerned with.
If you want to say that you believe the problem is likely with CurseForge, that's fine. It's your opinion, and you've defended it with a reasonable-sounding argument.
But that's not the same as claiming you know it has to be a problem with CurseForge. Hundreds more times, and again possibly thousands, I've seen huge throngs of people insist the problem absolutely has to be X, and it turns out the be Y. Having actual, actionable evidence that the problem lies is a specific direction is much, much more beneficial that hand-waving claims.
They also tend to know a hell of a lot less than they think they do. You can see that very clearly in this thread.
Mostly, I just let it go because they really don't matter. But I don't have much better to do right now so I might as well call out the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Maybe someone will even reflect on things and learn something later.
Simply wait for it to be resolved at the other end.
This is out of our hands.
Enjoy coffee... =)
That said, it's Ark, it's in alpha, and there are never guarantees of anything.
He is right where is the source what does reading it have to do with anything?
