Change DLSS into 3.5 for less or no crashing. heres how.

not sure if there is another post like this. but to lazy to check.

as in the title. i had alot of problems from release that the game would crash 5 minutes or less into the game and lock up my pc so i had to restart it or log off windows user to force the game to close.
today i tried to change the DLSS dll files in the game manually (did the same in starfield).
i put in a dlss 3.5 dll file that are some weeks old and now the game never crashes so far, dont even turn off volumetric clouds and still got decent fps. its worth a try if nothing else works for u.

how to do it :
1. go to https://www.techpowerup.com/download/nvidia-dlss-dll/ and download 3.5
2. copy the dll file into steamlibrary/steamapps/common/Ark survival ascended/engine/plugins/runtime/nvidia/dlss/binaries/thirdparty/win64 folder and replace the old one.
3. now u just start the game and see if it helps.



running it on a ryzen 7 3700x , rtx 3080, most on high or medium, ultrawide screen 1440p. 50-99 fps in daytime, and 48-70 nighttime with fires close. global illumination on high.

i hope this helps all u out there that has the same problems, but want to play this game that we love so much.

3.5.10 is the version that the game is currently using

Many of the crashes are permission based ACCESS_VIOLATION. Running the .exe as an administrator has stopped 100% of my crashes now for 24 hours +

my primary error today...and its been constant...is DXGI-Error Device removed/DXGi Error Device Hung, quite a few post on it over on the bug report forums but the mod that usually comments there has been silent the past few days

been trying to do the same. but then i lose access to the game for some reason. my user is also designated administrator in windows ofc.

The last thing I did was to very slightly throttle things back in the Asus tweak utility (3070 oc2). Knocked the power target down a few percent. I also nudged the boot clock and mem clock down very slightly. I didn't notice any drop in FPS to be fair but might have lost a frames or two I suppose. No crashes in three single player sessions of at least two hours and one of 5 hours. Not during gameplay anyway. I did notice when quitting out of the game there was an error, forgot to take note. I did also have one crash starting the ark but after restarting the game it worked fine. Pinpointing all the causes of these errors is going give wildcard headaches and then they have to fix them!!
