Is there a way to remove microraptors from the game?
These little ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ have cost me so much. I dont care. I want them gone, deleted from the game.

I find a level 145 thylacoleo. I go to tame it. Get a few bolts in, dodging it on my 146 baryonyx. Then i get knocked off. Think "thats weird, didnt think those could do that" Look next to me. Mircroraptor. My baryonyx starts attacking the thylacoleo. I am no longer stunned, get back on the baryonyx, cant find the microraptor to kill it, continue tame. It comes back about 30 seconds later, does the same thing again, tylacoleo kills me. Baryonyx doesnt kill the thyla somehow, but does leave it on like 1 health and it runs off and gets killed by a rex.

I do not want microraptors in my game. I dont care if its cheating, i dont ever want to get knocked off my mount and have to watch as this little thing pecks at me doing 0 damage while my mounts kill or get killed by whatever i was dealing with.

They were a worthless enemy in ASE, theyre still worthless now.

its not even that they can knock you off and stun you, its that they cant miss.

The kaprosuchus is a fun and entertaining enemy. It sneaks up you and lunches at you leaving you very little time to react unless you saw it beforehand, but you can juke it.

This dude, however, will fly around your head for an infinite amount of time until it hits your or it flies infront of your mount and you attack. There is NO way to avoid it.

Imagine we make a game about fighter jets and their missiles. Its decently fun. Now we add a missile that is faster than anything in the game, can lock perfectly 100% of the time, tracks perfectly, is immune to countermeasures, and can pull 50g turns. Does that sound like engaging gameplay to fight against?

The devs were on crack when they made this enemy. If i could refund the game at this point i would refund it because of this one enemy.

Hate to break it to ya, but they both can be killed and can miss. If ya hate them dismounting you so much get a stego or flyer lol XD

"get this one creature that is immune to dismount thats also slow af and completely helpless against actual fighting mounts or a different creature that simply lets you not play the game"

No they cannot miss. Killed yes, miss no. its faster than all but a few creatures in the game, and it will simply chase you down until it hits you. If it overshoots itll just loop around to try and hit you again. Ive had one fly circles around me for a minute straight until it finally hit me.

It is not an engaging or interesting enemy. It is an enemy that exists purely to inconvenience you.

If your having this much issue for a microraptor, i'd love to see you fight some of the bosses on Alpha
Chuck Nov 7, 2023 @ 11:06pm
Id love to see me fight that too, unfortunately these little ♥♥♥♥♥ will keep me stunned for so long that i think my ark character will die of old age before i get to that point.

Like i said, they exist to inconvenience you. Not to kill you. Other, potentially annoying, enemies exist to kill you. These things cannot kill me in any way other than by annoying me to death. They exist to knock you off your mount 100%, and then peck you for 10 seconds until you become unstunned and you get back on your mount and kill them.

It feels like the devs put in this enemy just to troll players, and then made them spawn everywhere.

They are not nearly as bad as those f-in seaguls. Your mount can sometimes take um out before they hit you, and can attack them after you get knocked off. Death is not always the result. But yes they are annoying, keep your mount on neutral and follow if your in an area where they are.
Peggos used to be my most hated until i realized if you keep mejos in the number 10 slot they will steal from 10 and many times tame themselves. Dang seaguls though, they can take and destroy most anything, they are suppose to be only taking food but i have had um take more than that. They can very hard to hit and kill, and will chase you a long time.
Vesuvia Nov 7, 2023 @ 11:12pm
All these creatures do have a use, even though they are annoying, seagulls when tamed can be used to hunt and fetch small dinos for some easy prime meat, even if those creatures dont drop it. And pegos and microraptors are good for pvp trolling. But yes yall have to deal with them,, they aren't made to not annoying XD

I never had an issue with those seagulls. They are annoying, but fly in a predictable pattern around you when attacking you. So once you get used to it you can use any ranged weapon and due to their low health they die fast. I barely see pegos anymore. I used to on ASE but rarely now.

But these things. They usually dont kill me. they got me killed this time, which was the worst possible time to get attacked by one (and due to them spawning literally everywhere means theyre always ready to be there when you really need them not to be). usually they just annoy me. Yes my mounts start attacking, but the pathfinding in this game is garbage so they usually just run around all confused until i become unstunned and either mount my dino again or kill the MR myself. The seagulls are easy to deal with, these things hit you before you can even reach the button to draw your weapon and stun you.

So if youre in PVE what do they do? Also creatures being only good for pvp trolling means yes they are made to be annoying.

I mean I really don't have that much issue with them and I live in there redwoods, their prime spawn location. I am playing single player and the pegos I actually love, find them a great pet, same with micros think they look quite cool. Mostly they are just backpacks, shoulder pets reduce the weight of weapons and equipment in their inventory for the player by a small amount. Literally with the micros I just kill them before the get me, they fold like paper XD

game.ini
NPCReplacements=(FromClassName="DINO-Classname",ToClassName="DINO-Classname")

In ASE you could simply replace them, i don't know if it still works
L3wt Nov 8, 2023 @ 3:33am
loooool nub got filtered out of his ark by insect food. Next he will be removing troodons and replacing all the dinos with sheep to simulate living on a ranch.🤣👌
L4m3r Nov 8, 2023 @ 8:14am
All the problems in ASA - but this makes me laugh hard.
Welcome to Ark! It can be very frustrating but that is the game.

First of all

you can evade zones where the live in .They not everywhere on the map.
You can set your dino to aggro when they dismount too most of your dino will kill them (if you have to go to their zone)
and as a last option you can replace/despan them via ini

but keep in mind there are a lot of anyiong dinos in ark its made by design.
;)
Sam Of Haywood Nov 8, 2023 @ 8:43am
I don't know why ppl are sitting here arguing with you, instead of just helping you, ffs this community... but anyways as some other common sense ppl have stated, you can remove them via ini whether your single or unofficial, and replace them, back on ASE i had some of the more rarer dinos spawning on carno island, so it's doable.
