Oviraptor Egg Range
I didn't see it discussed anywhere so i wanted to share my Findings.
The Oviraptor pickup range seems to scale with one of his stats (probably melee) because i just got my second oviraptor with a way higher lvl and realised that its pickuprange is about 8 foundations

That explains a lot actually. I have 2 standing side by side and 1 was much higher level and that one collects way more eggs. I also tested range and got 7 foundations but mine is not max level. Good find.

On reddit they are saying what weight. Has anyone checked if it is weight or damage?

From my testing, it doesn't matter which stat you level, only the level itself counts (same as dung beetle btw.).
I also suggest to **not** level weight for Ovi or Dung beetle. This may sound counterintuitive, cause your dino can't carry more eggs/dung... But their pickup abilities ignore the weight stat and pick up items until their inventory is full (item-wise, not weight).
However, to get the full benefit of both pets, you need to set them to wander (dung beetle for the fertilizer and Ovi for the egg speedup). Putting stone (or anything else) in their inventory until they're overweight will prevent them from actually wandering around, but still give their wandering benefits.

I use cages on wandering dinos. It works better.

I'm pretty sure they don't need to be on wander anymore.

For normal pickup, no, but for Egg Boost yes

And the range totally depends on the lvl, a lvl 400 Ovi has 9000 Unreal-units, thats like 30 Foundations

Has anyone had any issues with the fertilized eggs collected by Ovi's? When I collect the fertilized eggs from the Ovi's inventory, as soon as I throw them out they disappear. I have tested fertilized eggs that I pick up and throw out, everything is cool. Only the fert eggs from the inventory of my Ovi's.

Make sure your Ovi is not set to "collect both"

My ovi isn’t collecting anything

Ovi pickup range scales off its current level.
Its egg laying boost range is fixed.
It needs to wander for egg boost.
Doesnt need to wander for egg collection.
Ovi's and Dung beetles no longer need to be caged.
They will overencumber themselves very quickly and stay nicely put.
This is only an issue when you need to move them, or mate with them.

Having a high level ovi collecting unfertilized eggs for your whole base, and then some low-mid level ones collecting fertilized eggs from your breeders. if you use low/mid level for this, you can keep your breeding egg operation organized, with 1 ovirapter dedicated to each line.

If the oviraptor has no food in the feeding trough, it will eat the eggs it collects!

That's good because the range on my oviraptor always felt pitifully low, like to the point where it was basically non functional. I claimed a really low level orphaned baby after her mother attacked me, so that would make sense

It will not eat eggs that are in it's inventory unless they're dodo eggs, or you force feed it.
