How in the new world does the watering systems work?

i get they are pipeless now, but how do i exstend the range or do we need to build closer to water sourse now?
oh and how does one fill up the water tanks now? i placed one next to an intake and it won't even fill up... so confused by this system, and why did we need pipeless water anyways, this was again to satify all the weaklings who can't protect their pipes did it.

There's a mod that makes an intake that supplies water no matter where you place it. It might do for you until what seems like a bug is fixed.

Uh, not entirely certain what the issue you're having is. You build an intake in a water source, then build a storage unit within its range to extend it further. Each storage unit allows you to extend the range.

Put down an intake pipe and make sure your taps, tanks and crop plots are within range. If your taps and/or crop plots are not within range you put down a water tank within the intake's range to extend the range and so forth.

Mine works fine on SP.

I built on the point near the red ob so that I have water on 3 sides, so all I have to do is put an intake anywhere around the edges to cover pretty much all my base.

Same, helpful video nonetheless as I though I'd need to place each subsequent tank within the bubble of the previous one

Start with an intake. When you place a tank, there is a big blue arrow telling you the direction it's getting water from. If there is no arrow, you are out of range of all your water sources. The connection range is (much) larger than the watering bubble.

It's as simple as that. The video is totally missleading...

yea i know, i did exactly what you need to do, but in singleplayer it did not work from the get-go.

maybe because if have to play with loads of things on low and or either disabled, in any case after a reloaded the world, it seems to be corrected it self and now finally all is working.

Odd, it worked for me fine when I made mine. Were your tanks made in creative mode maybe? Trying to think what we could have done different.

yea, its the parcer platform, i guess they removed that or forgot, but i can't plant the X plant either

It's not a bug all you have to do is put a intake in water and then it has a radius and waters any plants in that Radius
