dont i got a RTX 4080 and its running 70 fps on epic whit shadows on med Clouds off Dlss performents. it may or maynot run on rtx 2080 smooth the BIGEST problem is instability using frame gen on my rtx 4080 just crashes the full game and wipes my character on single player so many bugs but you need to choose your self if u wanna try and got the cash do it and if its bad in your point of view just refund the game and wait a year

with a few settings tweeks and RTX set to performance I get around 45-55 fps at 1080p

i use a 2060 ryzen 9 with 16 gb ram and runs perfect no prblem just turned my resolution scale down with no clouds

if frame generation is fixed in ark i would say that you will enjoy playing ark just tweak some settings to find the sweet spot on graphics settings and fps

Runs fine on a 1060 with a few of the suggested tweaks. Even on a 3060 it needs a few tweaks. Still in EA, but getting better.

I am using the RTX 2080 Ti. You will need to do some tweeking but you will run primarily on High setting. Just make sure resolution is at 100. FPS 30-55

Shadows to Medium.
turn off Motion Blur and the 4 others below it.
Seems smooth after that. You will find more issues with glitches and poor servers. Nitrado is a crappy server provider.

Depends on what resolution your playing at. I have a 2080 and normally play at 1440p. Was not a great experience at 1440p. Probably could have made it work with the right settings. Switched to 1080p. most everything medium , textures on epic , global illumination on low. Cap my fps at 75.generally get a stable 50-75fps. Which is more than enough for me. Even on medium game looks great! There is also some commands you can use in console to turn off volumetric clouds , haven't done it but heard it helps.

Type these in console if you want a bit more of a boost/clean up.

r.VolumetricCloud 0 (this will deactivate your clouds but it looks still very good (20 FPS+)

r.Fog 0 (this will deactivate your fog and your game looks still nice)

grass.enable 0 (very good for pvp to see your enemies in the high grass!)

r.Streaming.PoolSize 0 (unlocks ur whole gpu memory)

r.Nanite.MaxPixelsPerEdge 4 (reduces triangles for nanite meshes)

r.Lumen.ScreenProbeGather.RadianceCache.ProbeResolution 16 (optimizes lumen)

r.DynamicGlobalIlluminationMethod 2 (disables Lumen)

r.ShadowQuality 0 (disables all shadows)

r.Water.SingleLayer.Reflection 0 (disable water refelction)

but you know that the DLSS Frame Generation requires a graphics card from the GeForce RTX 40 series? Heres RTX 2080.

runs like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on my 3080 on low

I have rtx 2080, playing on all Low settings WITH volumetric clouds off and getting 30-70 fps.

Rtx 2060 here, with Ryzen 5 and 16gb RAM. I can run the game fine with medium graphics and clouds turned off (r.VolumetricCloud 0). Get a steady 40-60fps, goes down to around 30 when flying.

RTX2070 8GB VRAM on an i7 w/32GB RAM.
Game runs just fine @1080p using DLSS, settings medium to high, motion blur off (Because I dislike the effect.), and everything else ON.

Game looks amazing!

Anyone running higher end RTX cards and observing that the game doesn't run well should take this as a sign that you either have a bottleneck somewhere or resources are being tied up elsewhere.
The game uses lots of RAM, both VRAM and standard DDR. If you have insufficient RAM this game will not run well.

I also have server hardware running dedicated and the server has not crashed once since launch.

Client-side a few patches after launch I started getting several crashes each day on inventory exit from containers, but the patch yesterday corrected the issue and I have only had 2 random crashes since. That's not bad considering I am playing around 10 hours or more per day at this time.

Hopefully this information with help some of you make decisions.
