ascendant stone pick vs norm. metal pick
the stone does more damage (I assume), but does it harvest more resources?

do I get less of a chance to get "rare" materials (if that stuff exists-- I am quite new to the game. just got the ascended as a loot supply drop)?

I believe you would want metal to get more metal ore. You would need to compare it for other stuff like on a tree and see which gives you more.

Metal tools have a better chance at getting rare resources, the high quality stone pick will only end up breaking the rock faster, which is why you might get more metal or flint per swing, but the metal pick will end up harvesting more resources, especially metal. I'd say use the stone pick for flint until it breaks, or use it as a weapon.

But of course, nothing beats the anky and argy for getting metal on the Island

A 200% + stone pick (or hatchet) will get more than a standard metal pick and is easier to fix.
Tested this a lot in ASE and ASA.

-- btw am I just unlucky or are there almost zero blueprints dropping? I get a few saddles and 1 tool in 40h of playing... I put a lot into crafting skill and feel it's absolutely useless as it is now
