Dear Devs - THANK YOU!!! It's a lot more stable and playable now!
I know you don't hear it often on these boards. Lots of frustrated people ready to hit the nuke button over things not working perfectly at first. I had faith you would get the game more stable eventually. Had no idea that you'd get it stable this quick though! Impressed. Been playing for a few hours without a CTD. Before I was getting one every 5-15 minutes. I tamed a flying pteranodon and been flying around just taking in all the breathtaking visuals.

I'm playing with an RTX 4070 Ti and everything is maxed out and I'm getting about 70-80 FPS with frame generation enabled which is great! Very smooth and enjoyable. The jungle is so dense and i love the way the God rays look when they shine through the tree leaves. You can look into a dense dark patch of jungle and see God rays shining through a clearing some distance away which looks incredibly lifelike. Almost like a fairy-tale.

Loving how the raptors actually hunt in packs now. I was hovering above and watching them tag team on some poor Dino down below. I'm too terrified to explore on ground myself because the foliage is so thick and deep and suddenly you hear raptors make that screeching sound and scurrying through the tall grass. Horrifying.

Thank you again and keep up the great work! :steamhappy:

Then you wake up and there is a crash message on your screen

they did fix something that's for sure... i am running a rtx 4080, ryzen 9 7950x3d with 32GB ram and i still have crashes for some reason, but its less.

Frame Generation was initially a tool created to use alongside of Path Tracing yet here we are having to forcefully use it to play games. Cyberpunk fully maxed with overdrive rtx runs better on my 3070 that doesn't support frame gen and just basic DLSS than ark does.

So let's be honest here, you shouldn't really need an rtx 40 to run it decently with frame gen. There is no reason for the game to run this bad when even cyberpunk, the father of benchmarks can run way better

Ps: even people with AMD have no access to any of the DLSS features and such. I wouldn't consider that playable

That is funny because I'm watching an RTX 3080 in 1440p getting 23fps on Epic settings with DLSS balanced. Keep in mind that is the recommended card and its not even able to hit 30 frames per second.

So I'm not sure if the 720p maxed you must be playing on counts 🤣

I'm running a 3070 and unless I use ultra performance on 1440p I can absolutely not hit 30 fps. And using medium or lower on some settings looks absolutely horrendous due to visual bugs at the moment (namely the flickering between day and night)

We literally got no option without frame gen

It is running a little better. But has long ways to go still.

I'm using an RTX 4070 TI and getting between 70 and 80 FPS consistently with Frame Generation Enabled under RTX settings. I'm playing it at 2056x1440p on a 144Hz refresh rate 4K UHD 55" Hisense U7K television.

I'm not sure your 3080 has Frame Generation capability so that's why yours is struggling. It adds a good 40 FPS for me. Without it enabled then I'm at about 40 FPS with DLSS on Quality and all settings on Epic. You NEED a 4000 series card for this game. Anything less than a 4070 isn't going to work well.

Not trolling. It's truth. They have made this game waaaayyy more stable with their latest patch. No crashes at all. It's playable now. If you have less than a RTX 4000 series card, then you're gonna have a bad time. This game really needs a 4070 on up. No exceptions. It even says it in the graphics options when you enable advanced graphic settings that a 4070 is the minimum for advanced graphic settings.

My rig...
RTX 4070 Ti 12GB GDDR6
32GB RAM DDR5 5600Mhz
I7 13700KF CPU
Windows 11 Home 64-bit

This game is running at 70-80 FPS consistently without crashes with graphics all set on Epic and RTX settings is DLSS Quality and Frame Generation Enabled and Reflex enabled. Monitoring frame rate with MSI Afterburner.

I never said it was perfect. But it's wayyy more stable now than it was just the other day. it's playable for me at least. I haven't CTD'd at all with it since the latest patch earlier this evening. But I have noticed when soaring sky on the pteranodon there are flashes of white blotches on the surface of water that flicker a bit and go away.

Has something to do with the bloom and water surface and lighting. It goes away when changing view angle. Probably noticeable if you climb up to a high spot on a cliff that overlooks water as well.
