Question for server owners

I keep finding conflicting information regarding requirements and cpu/ram usage. What hardware are you running and what's the usage like on it?

cpu use is pretty negligible. i have dual-proc and it uses like 4%. ram usage is at like 12GB. this is just a server for my friend and i, i would imagine the more people on the server the greater the ram usage.

I am using a 10 year old server, for a low population server ~8-10 GP ram, the server takes about 8% of my processor.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like I should have no problem setting up a couple maps on one of the hardware I have spare.

Im running on a 8700K with 128GB ram and it uses about 29GB ram and 20% cpu under load

My servers run on two old E5 Xeon V4 16 core/32 thread systems with 64 GB RAM. CPU utilization is relatively low, so I can normally have 3-4 servers running at a time, but also normally have our 7 Days to Die and Minecraft server also running. Depending on how many servers we want up on our cluster at one time, I sometimes dedicate one box to ARK and the other for everything else.

Since ASA is new and we only have one server, I have it running on the same server as my ASE cluster (2 maps up right now).

ok, i run 4 primal fear ASE servers, All Maps ASE servers, and ASA island, and Scorched soon on 3 Dell rack servers with xeon cpus and 192 gb ram. I do have a backup server for all of those to recover from disaster. I do however limit 20 players per map on ASE and 32 on ASA.

I have that same server....you can host all ASA Servers on that if you limit to 20 players per map.....each player needs about 4gb ram to play and server takes approx 8gb ram

So your saying you see on the server 8gb+4gb per player so if 4 were connected the server uses 24 GB?

not always....thats a conservative estimate on how i limit players per map for my servers to cut ping and lag (which kills communities). so if i have popular maps and not others, i can up player count and discontinue a map thats unpopular or under utilized. Hope that helps. oh and each server uses the 8 gb ram in ASA, not each player. 2 maps would be 16 gb and the rest for players.

Im sorry, something else came to mind...if you look at Nitrado (Ark Host) they make you pay for more than a certain ram size based on player count. Just trying to help ya out.
