Pixelated graphics and flickering around moving characters/dinos
I'm seeing pixelated graphics around character/tools/dinos when moving, especially when sprinting or flying. Pixels sometimes persist for a sec, like from wings when flying. Just the game or does anyone know how to change settings or use console commands to improve this? If it's just how it's gonna be that's fine, but if I can improve this it would be awesome

Examples are below- first is pixels around character when running and using tools. Second is persistent pixels when flying on argie.

I have an AMD. Settings are:
1920x1080 w/ Resolution Scale 90 (won't let me go to 100, keeps changing back to 90)
Advanced Graphics: Medium
Anti-Aliasing: High
View Distance: Medium
Textures: High
Post-Processing: High
General Shadows: Medium
Global Illumination Quality: Low
Effects Quality: Medium
Foliage Quality: Medium
Motion Blur, Light Bloom, Llight Shafts, and Low Light Enhancement: Off

I've also used console commands r.volumetricclouds 0, r.volumetricfog 0, and r.water.singlelayer.reflection 0

Omg that looks annoying AF, i have no idea what causes that. Ive played with so many settings and console commands, but i have never seen that effect before...

Yeah I want to say it wasn't there when I originally launched, but I'm not sure. It became more obvious with the argie. None of my friends are having this problem

The other issue I have is flickering/shimmering trees and leaves from a distance. Unsure if this is related

Oh i see, shadows are completely gone too here.

Some of the console commands will do this, id toggle them back on one by one and see, disabling the heavy hitters sadly come at great cost of visuals.

So i have been having this issue for awhile now. On my 4070TI i am actually running the game with everything at extreme except for shadows and view distance. Then with dlss on but not dlss frame generation. The pixalating I am getting is from using the dlss. But soon as i turned my view distance to extreme, I now dont get that pixalating except for in the far far distance.

as for it not letting you change it from 90 resultion, change the advanced graphics to extreme, that should change it but than after wards change other things to what you want. This way you keep the resolution but are able to lower other stuff. I will say though, that mine was at 100 and it made no difference. until i changed the view distance

@Elden I do have shadows and contact shadows on, didn't turn off those in console commands. I only turned off clouds and water reflection.

@Sirbum69 I'll try that! I had messed with epic graphics in the beginning but maybe need to go back and try again. I don't have Nvidia so I don't think I can change dlss because I don't have an RTX tab in settings?

Oh, I've also encountered the same issue as you TAT. My GPU is an RTX 3060 Laptop.

Ok thats crazy then because in the last videos there are ZERO shadows on the landscape and trees.

Mind you ive never set the game to low, im gonna try it just for YOU!

BRB!

Shadows on the trees improved with high/epic graphics but unfortunately not the ghosting on my character and dinos. I'm suspicious this could be due to dlss, but I can't change that since I don't have a Nvidia card, I assume?

I also have that issue and I'm 90% sure that it wasn't as bad until today

Anybody ever figure out a fix for this?
Morbrakai Sep 24, 2024 @ 5:09pm
Same issue here with an AMD RX 7900 XT. Never had the issue before this last patch. Funny how the patch says it fixed flickering issue, only to cause it for my setup.
