Shutting down Unofficial server
I host an unofficial and we tamed a good tame last night. We shut down the server simply by hitting the X on the new window (that you can't type anything into) then ctrl+c to close the command window. Well when logged in today, it's an older save. As in we lost 30 min or so of time. What's the correct way to shutdown the server now so it saves correctly?

Change the save time interval. I have our set to 5 minutes.
AutoSavePeriodMinutes=5

Have an admin use the command 'cheat saveworld' before killing the server in the future.

Thank you!
For dedicated server, the proper command is: exit
It will save the world and gracefully shut down the server and then close the window.

There's 2 "v" next to the minimize button at the top of the server command window that adds a text box to the bottom of the window for command input.

NP bud. I'd recommend testing it out before relying on it. I've never had an issue with the command, but ASA is buggy so there's always a chance the server goofs up.

I'd still recommend taking the above advice for the server auto-save interval.

Happy hunting! :halohotdrop:

The servers dont lag too much on saves, so this is what I do. Works pretty well!

Is there a restart command?
is there a timer to shutdown the server in a safe manner?

Notice that every save will create a little "hickup", so don't set it too low. At one point it starts distracting you, specially on low end systems. If you want to be sure, just open the console and type "saveworld" without quotes, then leave and shut down with your preference.
