how to disable lock on building?

i can do it if i dont have a foundation.. i can do free placement or whatever its called, but t wont let me do that on a foundation. any way to disable?? maybe im missing it? argh D:

It says on the pop up which button to hold, for me it's P but I'm pretty sure I rebinded the appropriate key.

@littleballofpur as i have mentioned it does not show up on a foundation. no key to change placement type, only on ground with no foundation. i want to place a smithy close to wall but cant, it forces it to the middle

and if i click it anyway without it popping up it does nothing

Hold Q by default, while in placing mode. Not sure why prompt does not show up for you.
