There are tons of "Fixes" you can google. Some being Running as Administrator, Verifying the files, lowering graphics, using in game commands like r.VoluMetricCloud 0 and r.VoluMetricFog 0, etc...
It sucks that ASA is having problems, but once Wild Card irons out all the bugs and optimizes the game, it's be a good rendition to the original.
people will say disable this disable that.... basically to run this game properly, you gotta make it look like ASE.
Yes, it's not optimal. Far from it. But you can make it crash less. And you don't have to make it looke completely potato graphics, but like i said it's far from optimal. I'm running the game on A770-LE 16Gb, and average around 35-45 (less heavy areas around 60fps. Longest stretch i managed to play without crashing was 8 hours.
These are what i use. Res scaling (Not DLSS) on 50% (of 3840x1600). Water/foliage interaction off. Everything to low, then textures to Epic, Advanced to medium, AA medium, Post Process High (lower settings destroy image quality), Effects high. Particles/Decals enabled, Bloom On (or off, whatever you think looks best). Far LOD off. Use console to disable volumetric fog & clouds.
Maybe when they figure out the technical issues with this game we can run it with decent settings, but for now you are just banging your head against a brick wall trying to run this with high/max settings. If it's crashing constantly, lower your settings. Also, do not use fly mode (too fast = guaranteed crash) if it's crashing for you.
This could help as well. Quote from a post below
running high or low graphics isn't my problem. I have a 4090 and Core i9 13900K. running I can pull decent fps even without DLSS and frame gen. and I did turn DLSS off as it reduced the crashes by a lot.
whats frustrating is the fking broken saves. even the manual saves don't seem to work properly. you crash once and you are like 2h behind.
I just lowered some settings like shadows i didnt have a crash for an hour till i hit something with a torch lol
And even before that, it was just maybe 1 a Day
