Is The Island map exactly the same?

Is there any kind of a different feel and atmosphere to the map?

It is recognizable as The Island Map but it feels different and changed a bit.

The foliage is denser, so you can't see as far. Makes it feel like the jungle it was intended to be. I think what really got me wasn't the improved rock and ground textures, but the weather and the light from the obelisks. I was atop a mountain harvesting crystal at night when a rainstorm began and the peak I was on became encased in fog. If I hadn't been near my bird, I would have lost it: on higher graphic settings, the weather is that immersive. It feels like an environment where PVP would be a lot of fun, provided people didn't cheese their graphics to make it easier to see. So... yeah, not happening. But a cool prospect.

Describing this to you, I also realize in retrospect that nighttime felt good. ♥♥♥♥, it felt great. I didn't find myself scrambling for the gamma command just to navigate the dark. It's dark, but not impenetrable.

A lot was reworked while keeping areas recognizable. Island no longer has that old, plastic feeling to it. Feels a lot more like Ragnarock.

The big flying Giga bug is also new..and terrifing..saw it fly near the Volcano
