I've been looking under water and still can't spot them. Even in Evolved the beavers would quite often build their dams underwater. They are (were?) very distinctive in appearance and easily stood out from rocks and other stuff you'd find at the bottom of rivers.
They still look like big bundles of branches and twigs, right?
Thanks, I'm going to check now. That would certainly explain why I missing them. That's far from where they used to be, either along the river's edge or in the river itself.
Thanks. I'll check there. At this point I'm desperate enough for cementing paste I'm considering taming a frog and going bug hunting (That's fun to do anyway).
I had 2 Beavers right next to my base and they were building Dams on land and at the shore as well. But out of nowhere suddenly both Beavers disappeared from one moment to the other. And I didn't do the destroywilddinos console command.
Seems the whole spawn thingy is bugged somehow. But hey, it's Early Access.
Yeah, beavers/dams in SP mode are definitely bugged ATM. I'm getting castoroides spawns, but they're not building dams. Even using the dino wipe command several times hasn't helped.
With all the other performance and server related bugs that Wildcard is actively working to fix, I just hope this SP bug doesn't get tossed too far down the list of priorities. It would especially suck if it was left unfixed for so long that it became a dreaded legacy bug, of which there were many in Survival.
