no difficulty override

got a friend who bought the game a few days ago, he cant find the GameUserSettings.ini file so he cant change his max level to 180. did they remove it?

What's the point in changing max level? just enjoy the game and edit the settings as needed in the game options.

we just like our max level to be 180 and not 150, we've played like that for a year and are used to it by now

It's in:
Steam/Steamapps/Common/ARK Survival Ascended/Shootergame/saved/Config/Windows
Under [Server Settings] Just add:
OverrideOfficialDifficulty=6

And make sure MaxDifficulty=False

You wont be geting your 180 lvl even with the GUS.ini file. Levels are somwhat soft locked at lvl 135. You can raise the lvls of your tames but not player levels, tryed it.

tried to raise the max level myself and tried two different strings of code one for 400 levels and a different one for 500 after addexperience 999999999999 1 1 it said that I had all the levels there but when I started leveling my stats they hit a brick wall at level 135, it seems that WC hasn't carried this feature over from ASE yet...but hopefully eventually :-)

The amount of level up are softlocked, not the wild dino max level. My server runs level 600 wild dinos.

For level 180 WILD DINOS:

GameUsersettings.ini:
Set: DifficultyOffset=1
OverrideOfficialDifficulty=6 (this line you need add in full by urself, you can write it direct under DifficultyOffset)

Game.ini:
MaxDifficulty=False
If you leave it on try, levels wont change.
