No ..
I actually have the setting but it doesn't work. whatever the value, we are stuck at 200m
SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\ARK Survival Ascended\ShooterGame\Saved\Config\Windows
Set
ListenServerTetherDistanceMultiplier to something like 10, save. Go into file properties in windows and mark it as "Read only" - so that game does not reset settings by itself. Test it in game.
I will try thank you. I change the setting in the in-game settings
Also not that by editing Game.ini and GameUserSettings.ini you can use decimals like 0.025, while UI would limit you to 0.2 or 0.02 in different areas, might be helpfull later:)
Don`t foget to set files to read only though, so that in-game does not override\reset it.
Ok thanks, I will try to do that later.
But I still hope that the developers will give the possibility of increasing the distance normally.
And, do you know if the resource map is the same as on The Island from Evolved? What if the dino spawn map is also the same?
Evolved resource and dino spawn maps can be used as a pretty good reference point.
While a lot of landscaping was done, resource distribution seems pretty much the same, exact positions of rocks are a bit different, but concentration is the same for old areas.
Dino spawn areas also seem to be pretty much the same, this, however, will probably get changed a bit later on, as I have noticed quite a few dinos spawn inside rocks, primarely on mountains.
Also, it seems like default spawn amount of dinos is lowered, making them a bit sparse around the map, as opposed to Evolved, where you could not take a step withouth being stuck between a troodon, a microraptor and a rex, all wanting to invite you for dinner.
Hi,
OK thx
And, what is the difference between a solo game and a non-dedicated game in a private match?
Because in both cases we are all alone because if I put in a private match, my server does not appear and no one can join me since my server is not displayed.
So it's the same as being solo ?
I do believe private non-ded allows joining with direct steam invite. Not completely sure.
I tend to setup dedicated for coop.
But you have to pay a server to do that, right?
No. you can set it up on your own PC.
I did not play around with ASA servers for now, but other people already posted tutorials and how too`s :)
Renting helps if you do not have hardware, or don`t feel like diving into technical aspects.
Ok thank you, and finally, can't we increase the speed of the flying dinos? I activated the option in the settings but I cannot assign any points to the speed of my argentavis.
Does not seem to be currently possible. While setting is in game, it does nothing. I did some testing over these few days and did not find any way of making it work.
