ASE is better then ASA

lest be very honest with our self's ASA looked very nice on paper and all the vod demos they gave us probably just ate them up but really? ure5 uses AI to create landscape ask yourself how much work did they really put in the game other then the graphics which any robloxs game maker with ure5 and many many cans of red bull or master couldnt do in half the time
Snail games played everyone who bought asa and really think about it the player animations
look like a 2000's game model very arcadey and not very ARK it may have ARK in the name but it is not the game we all grow to love and hate they saw a game that made a lot of money and aimed to try to make more like it how many games did snail games make and dropped i think ASA is going to be like that as well once they get all the dlc and everything they can make cost irl money possible sure you may like ASA but is it really the ark we love the ark we have played for ever now the ark that could have had so much more but yet we get less for a higher cost and barely any show for what we say they do not listen to the players that is clear why buy anything that has snail games on it im never going to buy ASA and im only ever going to play ASE as there is so much more going for it then ASA has even for the future it is going to fail as it seems and then snaily gos bye bye

for a game they will never look back on once it fails

our only hope ever is going to be if someone buys snaily out and really listens

there is so much they messed up on like crossplate from sounds like a good idea but is not
someone on a xbox with a controller will not be able to compete to someone with a pc m&k
xbox showed that to be too true and so much more the game just sucks
but for the survival part i guess its something else which isnt saying very much since thats really all that changed less dino spawns items removed map looks and plays dumb its like looking at a open world arcade game if i where you just refund the game and wait for it to be much much lower price its not like your going to be missing out on much

EXCEPT that many of us are playing with little to no hassels... i got 6 accounts living in my house and we all play on our dedicated server and one is on a 1070... all the way up to 4090 and no crashes or freezes... been having a blast

cool but the 40 gets you ALL the dlc except one planned new one next week it will be 45 next year will be cheaper till new dlc drops

Yeah, I’m cool waiting. Played a bunch of ark. Got burnt out. Try ASA. Felt unfinished and not too much different from ASE. I deemed it not worth 40 for me. I like to enjoy my experience with a more complete game. I’m not going to play it through its pre beta.

I havent really noticed any gameplay changes. Its the same ark with new graphics and animations.

But otherwise i have to agree with a few points. I have a 2000$ pc. 3060Ti, i7-12700kf, buncha ram, samsung 980 pro ssd. There is no reason i have to run this game on low-medium to get 60fps. if i want to go higher i have to use console commands to disable volumetric clouds. This pc took me months of work to get (not all of us have cushy well-paying jobs), but it runs every other game i have at max settings no problem. Elden ring, ArkSE, those games it has no problem with. This game is definitely an exception. And because i have to turn everything down, it looks.... comparable with ASE, maybe even worse sometimes depending on what im looking at (sometimes better but only when nothing is moving, frame rate issues make things in motion look gross on higher settings).

Not to mention, all over the southern and south eastern area of the map (because thats all ive been able to explore right now) there are quality control issues. Things like dinos getting stuck in terrain and rocks/grass hovering over the terrain EVERYWHERE. I get bugs, crashes, fps issues, this stuff shouldve been caught when they were making the map.

Just because it has the potential to look better doesnt mean its actually gonna look better. Whats the point of spending so much time and effort maximizing the graphics if most people cant even run it like that (or at all). I wouldve rather had minor graphics improvements and took all the quality of life stuff and animation changes rather than get a game that tries to make my pc detonate.

The only reason i dont like the price tag is because of the state its in. If it was more optimized and didnt have quality control issues i wouldnt care as much. I would call the product poor quality, and yet they sell it to you in the state its in.

This is from the guys who bought DLC in early access... At least this game has polish thanks to UE5. The management still needs to change I admit.

lol roughly ard $5 for each map. damn Hell cheap. I gave my 3080ti desktop I bought early last year for $4.0k to my younger sister for free. And I bought a 4090 desktop for $6k to play ark survival ascended. I am very much satisfied

You have a point. This is just a port to Unreal 5. It isn't finished. And once again, the devs are putting out a subpar product with promises that it will be improved in the future. You're also right that it didn't take all that much work to port it. Landscapes are finished by using math to seed trees and rocks everywhere.

At the same time, I'm happy that they've promised all future content will be free. It does look better than the original. And if your computer isn't 10 years old, you'll have a good time.

see im gonna wager that the vast majority of people dont have the ability to drop $10k worth of computer at any point in time. Most people have regular, affordable machines that can run games that are better optimized and more stable.

I would certainly hope you would be satisfied with a $6k computer.

Don't get penis envy. I have a $1k laptop with a 4080 in it. The game runs perfectly. There's a certain point where you just spent too much and don't really get anything out of it. Dude will not need that power for the next 15 years, and by that time, his hardware will be either burnt out or so old that it runs like ♥♥♥♥. But everyone should be able to afford the 1k-2k range in a reasonable amount of time.

Im not really sure what you mean by 'penis envy' but I dont envy this, i have a $2k computer and i like it very much and its the most money i think ill ever spend on a computer regardless of how much i have. If you need a pc that is over that price to run a game on high settings, that game sucks automatically in my eyes.

Also, 1k laptop with a 4080? Can i get a link and/or additional specs?

ASE is better for me at the moment, because I can't play ASA for longer than a few minutes before it crashes.
