Questions about ARK survival ascended's ARK dev kit

Sorry if I'm asking this in the wrong place.
I'm using ARK Survival Ascended's ARK dev kit for map development.
I'm developing a map with the ARK dev kit for ARK Survival Ascended, but when I try to paint the landscape in the way I used to in ARK survival evolved, I can't paint it.
Are there any experts who can help me figure this out?
(Should I ask on the Unreal engine forums?)
If anyone knows of any documentation (where such information is compiled), we would be grateful if you could let us know.

I think in one o fthe news posts I saw some thing talking about dev kit. Maybe check there?

Sorry. Where do you indicate that you are a news post?

No I saw it when was in my game library. It showed posts from the devs and one of them stated Dev kit released and thought had a link. But now Im not sure. I will try to find it again for you.

Ok I can not find the post any more :-/ But I did a google and this was best I found

Basicially you need to go to UE5 and watch tutorials :-(

Sorry, but what I wanted to know was not exactly how to paint, but where to find the landscape material for ASA.

From what I read you go to UE5 then to ARK section?
Another option I see is go to ARK modding discord. I think this link will get you to it. I found it on wiki

I am having the exact same issue, im fairly new to modding and im using tutorial videos of the UE4 engine, It seems that none of the layers have any textures available when using the MI_NewIsland material.

You said UE4 you need UE5. Not sure if it was a typo. But ask in the discord channel

Yes i am using older videos to try and learn how to use the newer engine

There should be newer videos to follow. Check UE5 site and also games discord modding channel.

I'm trying to get a hold of Nekatus to potentially put together a tutorial series and to learn myself actually. There's some differences that have caused me to run into this same issue with not being able to paint on the landscape after generating it. What we really need for the community is an in depth step by step on setting up the map and files, painting, and asset placement. Once we have the basics done, then it's a matter of creativity for most of us. I myself have a design waiting, gonna be slightly bigger than the island but definitely interesting. However, like everyone else here I'm waiting on information and guidance from some of the more experienced creators. Just to point out, UE5 tutorials aren't going to solve the issue, you need specific Ark Dev Kit UE5 tutorials as the Ark Dev Kit has some notable changes from standard UE5.

Any updates on this? I am having the same issue. I set the parent to MM_NewIsland and I still cannot see the textures.
