it's not 80gb it's a few megabytes that you actually download. The 80gb is the update beign applied to the game files. This is affected by how fast your ssd or hard drive or cpu is/are

So why have i been downloading for the past 3h at 25-50 Mbps with having 30gb downloaded and 47gb installed? Is my 5600x and my WD black 650 m.2 ssd not fast enough?

That's your hard drive speed, actually.

The way this game updates, for now at least, is to reinstall a vanilla version of the game from the previously downloaded install files, wipe the older version, then download the patch, apply the patch, and verify all game files.
So yeah, you do need twice the game's data size to do any updates for now. One chunk for your current install, one chunk for the new copy (the previous chunk is cleared), and a small extra portion for the patch size.

I have a screenshot showing that it's downloading the whole game, not a small update.
it took 5h to download and there is no way it was my harddrive speed when steam and the game are both installed in my m.2 ssd. Sorry if this came accross as rude im just getting tired of people seeing game is re downloading and just saying its my hard drive. I was able to pause ark2 download city skylines 2 onto the SAME ssd and it downloaded in 1h (50 gb) and let ark continue to download for 3 more hours before it was finished

When there is an update it first downloads the patch, then re-validate? or something, and then downloads the entire game again.

HERE IS A FIX
when it begins to download the game again, go to settings->downloads and clear the downloading cache. steam will restart and then its back to normal.
