also I am pretty sure you can run the server on the machine running the game
Plus, if you get the right server equipment, they are pennies a day to run unless electricity is outrageous where you live.
7950X3D, 4090 etc..... but I also use it for work, normal stuff and playing other games. I dont want it to run 24/7. But I want my friends to be able to play whenever they want to.
And yes... electricity is expensive where I live.
What were you doing before? Were you running an Ark Survivor Evolved Server before this? If so, what was it running on? It's really no different than before, just the roll-out sucked.
PC Specs aren't even that great but running and playing okay from same PC.
Med/High settings
Ryzen 5 3600
3070
32GB RAM
If you have better specs than me you should have no problem.
No, I think what have you done with your old pc's? It won't take that much to run a server. If you have an old pc with 16GB of ram it should work.
But as it appears, there are only 3 real options left....
1. do not play (or just singleplayer)
2. host a 24/7 server yourself
3. nitrado
I know it seems silly.. But literally this is what people are doing. Its the only way to run it without buying into Nitrado or whatever that crap service is called. And there are many, many players greateful to the few that do this for them. Its not a think you or I would do, but some do.
