Fatal Error Exception Access Violation
Like the title mentions, I keep getting the same crash that it seems like most people are getting, I've got updated drivers, GeForce GTX 3080 32gbs of ram, basically my system should run the game is what I'm getting at so it's not a hardware issue.

Tried all the fixes online, setting the PhysX to my card, verifying files, reinstalling, clean installing, run as administrator etc. I'm assuming the only fix left is to just wait for them to fix it unless someone on here knows something. It's a gorgeous game, love the baby dinos running about, this isn't a doom post or the salt filled gamer rage of plenty of others.

If it helps, it's ALWAYS in my inventory that it happens, which obviously is pretty impossible to not use lmao.

If you're running an overclock disable it for this game

Nah no overclock, haven't done anything special to it since I got it honestly, the system is about as manufacturer default as it can be

Noticed I keep having this error when I hit my VRAM max on GPU. So perhaps you are reaching it too.

It's a game coding issue they are aware and working on it should be an update soonTM in the discord

ive previously suggested DLSS off, but im not so sure that was the problem anymore. i was having constant crashes as well but havent crashed in a few days. My pc is 5900x and a 3080-10gb.

my settings getting 40-60fps (avg 60 but sometimes sun set/rise drops me to 40):
res: 2k
Advanced graphics: Medium
View distance: Low
Textures: Medium
Post processing: Medium
General shadows: High
Global illumination: High
Effects: Medium
Foliage: High
Max frames: 60
Motion blur: OFF
Light bloom & shafts: ON
Lowlight enhance: OFF
Enable foilage & fluid interaction: OFF
Footstep Particles: OFF
DLSS: Balanced

And in UI- Disable Menu Transitions: ON

edit: also i set physx to gpu instead of auto

One things i've noticed is that most of us having this specific issue are using a 3080.

Yeah so far what I've learned is that if I run it as Administrator that specific crash has stopped happening, tested it through Steam again to see if they just did a ninja update but its still happening. So if you want to try and at least -play- while you wait, that seems to be working for me. Only had one other crash since but it wasn't that specific crash.

Definitely seems that after all the messing around, settings changes it is something to do with their coding but as far as being able to play without crashes, it seems a combo of setting the PhysX to my card and running as Admin instead of through Steam has let me have consistent hours of playtime.

i forgot about the physx thing, i also set it specifically to the card.
but yea, by some special combination of settings lets me play without crashing, here's hoping it only plays better as they update it

Still having the same issue only when I load up my Island map " Has about 13 hours on it". Anyone else figure out a fix? I can join servers just fine. I have tried a lot of different things to get into my save.

Did you manage to fix it by lowering settings?
PowerBlazinG Nov 13, 2023 @ 5:59am
I am having this issue too. Been days playing on my single player with no problems and suddenly progress was lost, settings were reset too and when started a new sp game it started crashing and this error appeared. Using a 4070 so it's not a 3080 thing.
