So that is the volumetric clouds with lumens affecting them (from the moon) The shadows are grainy right now due to a bug in UE5 that should be fixed in a future update to UE5 (version 5 or later).
Wether ARK upgrades to that version or not is a whole other matter.
Probably one of the recent updates fixed it?
Edit: nvm I guess this was just my imagination. It is not fixed.
Let me grab them:
r.VolumetricCloud.ViewRaySampleMaxCount 64
r.VolumetricRenderTarget.Mode 3
USe those 2, and clouds dont flicker AND they look smoother.
Edit: nvm I guess this was just my imagination. It is not fixed.
Thank you for the info. I'll try it if I find it apparent again.
And I hope your info helps anybody who came to seek the solution for this.
I would just suggest turning them off. Performance drop isn't worth it.
As per above ...... The novelty wears off after five minutes and the quality just isn't there yet. Switch them off and wait for them to be improved, really not worth the performance hit. Worse was sun up in the tall forests ....... Looked like two flat lines of sunlight coming through the trees and seem low res.... horrible. I leave the fog on though as it makes it more fun trying to tame a cat when you can't see far and you know it's there somewhere.
The 2 lines i posted is a huge improvement
I have to confess I missed that bit so will have a go next time I'm on. Thanks.
Yo these two commands are FIRE.
Thank you so much for sharing this.
And i also wanna fix the distant fog in lightrays, its very fuzzy
