So what i did was, leaving the game public. Added private in the games name. Make sure you add a password. Its an admin password, so no one but you who knows what the password is can access admin tools.
The server will show up in the server list. But its public for anyone to join. If someone wants to be a troll and join your server even if you've got "Private" in the title. Just press esc, Click on admin. The players name will pop up and you can just kick them from the server. Simple as that.
Hopefully they'll add an option to invite someone to your non dedicated server eventually. Just keep in mind that the tether isn't functioning the same as the old game. Last i checked i couldn't tweak it so, no splitting up. And if the host dies, the other players will get dragged to you.
Tried this and it didn't work, dit you do something else?
Nvm ignore last, Turn on pc only gaming option on your server browser :)
non dedicated private servers should work now. They fixed this ages ago.
Just make a non dedicated, make it private. And once your in the game. Your friends can join your server through the friends list. They just need to find your name, click the drop down and select join.
