Even on a 4090/13900k it's terrible
Color me unimpressed. Definitely not even remotely worth the trouble. It's identical to the first game (at least early on) but runs like garbage. I thought maybe I'd stick it out until they worked out the kinks for the visual glory, but it's mediocre at best. Even factoring frame rate out of the equation and just cranking it up to Epic, just to see where it could end up down the road...it still looks meh.

I'll go a step a further - UE5 so far has been a complete flop as far as I'm concerned and nowhere near ready for prime time.

I am running an Asus Rog Strix laptop, GeForce RTX 3060 GPU, AMD Ryzen 7 5800H with 16g RAM 1920x1080, 144hz , can my little laptop run ASA at all or is it not worth me purchasing? I played the ♥♥♥♥ outta ASE, so I was curious about this, but don't wanna waste $$ on something I may not be able to run XD
Thx for any help guys!
I Tested it on my Laptop asus TUF So cheaper version of your ROG, its a Ryzen 5, 6 core. I have a 3050Ti in it. Im not great with all the newest Tech, however I have been able to play with 30 to 60 FPS mostly 50 to 60FPS but can hit a spike here and there. I run everything on LOW. My CPU has some sort of Graphics of its own also? IDK it must be using my RAM shared because the GPU only has 3GBs of ram, Which isnt enough. I have to use the ingame commands to turn off the Volumetric clouds. and the Volumetric FOG setting both to 0 and I seem to be fine with View Distance on Medium everything else on LOW. The slide set at 100 for Resolution and Fullscreen mode. 1920x1080. I think you should be able to do better since you seem to have better parts. IDK if your CPU can do the shared memory thing. If I can maybe you can if not you may need to update your Memory to 32GB or more. I have 32 and it works alright. game mostly looks like old Ark with all the new features. Also in old ark on low dinos look like Gumbie, this is not the case in ASA. They look fine which is awesome. Good luck.

When will you realise a top of the line rig doesn't fix software. People running less than 16 gigs a ram are laughing at you

Geforce 3080
i7 9700k
32Gb Ram

2k on EPIC ( all settings )
DLSS on Ultra performance
Resolution scale 100%

28 fps on beach . . . . yea XO

I have 4080 and i7-13700k and I have no problem running the game on 4K 50-60 FPS, especially with frame generation.

Quite trolling, you know very well it's not at all "just like the old game", but even if it were, did you not read the description. It's ASE simply upgraded to the new Unity 5 engine, new graphics and few new game mechanics, like baby dino's plus more.

However it is so far from "just like the old game" that I can't believe I even took the time to respond to this rubbish post.

I have a rather negative mindset in regard to Studio Wildcard, primarily just sloppy development due to extremely inexperienced staff that seem to be hired right out of high school, however I am very impressed with ASA over ASE. Yes getting a little tired of the crashes, but once that's ironed out I believe I'll be putting as many hours in ASA as I did in ASE.

they have never patched real optimizations. the hardware is just more powerfull

No, i tested with original. Performance was improved and resource usage was reduced a good bit compared to release. It was a definite improvement.

Yep got my money back ♥♥♥♥ this game

Okay, decided to try MSI afterburner overlay instead and yes 4090 13900k on 1440p all epic settings its ~100 fps. (With DLSS Quality + FG) turns out the ingame "Stat FPS" command sucks.
I'm guessing that shows the fps before all the DLSS + FG as that was saying 40fps.

Worrying about my card being worse than all others is over phew
No turn off volumetric clouds and watch it hit 190 fps lol.
how do you turn em off?

So i have a 4090 and the game runs good, around 100 fps on max, DLSS Q FG 1440p Singleplayer. In 4k its ~67 fps, sure could be better, but the graphic is extremely good.
Weird, I have 4090 too and literally only get ~40fps on max 1440 with DLSS + FG.
also in singleplayer

unless your running a 4k monitor you might be bottlenecking your gpu and cpu

All these posts about running the game just fine/no problems/beautifully with Frame Generation on a 4090 :D You are not running the game on that frame rate to begin with, you are using a crutch to fix a issue. Half the frame rate and that is what you are actually running the game at lol. No, the performance is not fine.

either you guys are playing a different game or your computer sucks ****.. I have not had one problem running this game even with settings on high. The first time I logged in it crashed twice other than that it runs great. I have two other people on my server and I know for a fact they dont have super gaming pc's and they are playing it just fine. Not sure whats up with your system, or graphics card or whatever.. but it simple plays flawless here.

you probably take care of your ♥♥♥♥. you probably have a job and stuff you worked to get that you want to take care of. you're IQ is probably 3 digits instead of 2.

either that or they're just downloading 'bad copies' of the game. i crashed once on launch day when i changed every setting at once (did save them at least) and that was it. i was hoping for 30fps and mild stuttering but nope, 45+ on 4 year old equipment on high/epic settings at 1080p, runs smooth as butter, literally better than ark

you can't tell a problem person that they're the problem though
Gothdrak Oct 28, 2023 @ 2:07pm
I have the same. But FPS capt at 60 everything max only dips 58 to 56 here and there.

The simple fact is there are 3 possible causes for a problem with a game

1: The game itself
2: The users PC in 1 form or another
3: A Mix of both
-

A Games Flaw can potentially show an unseen flaw of the PC itself just like a PCs unseen flaw can show that of a games.

Its also a fact that just because someone has a Powerful PC DOES NOT mean there cannot be a problem with it. The same can be said of a Powerful PC hiding the flaws of a game normally lacking optimization yet runs fine enough.

People that actually know how to take care of, configure, and manage their PCs are at a lower risk of having issues with a game than that of those that do not even if the game itself is mostly at fault.
-

With that said to everyone else.
Troubleshoot

Close any unnecessary processes and programs BEFORE Gaming to limit possible causes
Its HIGHLY Probable that something running in the background could be interfering with something, especially those with some sort of graphical interface or that tends to use the GPU in some form. EVGA Precision and MSI Afterburner being 2 examples.

Clean uninstall the GPU Driver with DDU in Safe Mode and install the latest driver.
For NVIDIA, choose Graphics Driver Only (Not the one that automatically installs GFE), Custom Install, Deslect everything but PhysX and go from there.

And Yes, i recommend NOT INSTALLING Geforce Experience because IT Itself has long been known to be the cause of issues in games. Unless you use it for Shadowplay or whatever YOU DONT NEED IT.
