$30+ per month to rent a server?

A couple of friends and I decided to try Ark out for the first time with this upgraded version of the game and wanted to rent a private server like we've done in Valheim a few times. I've only ever used Gportal for stuff like this, but all they list is the old version of Ark - I don't see 'Ascended' when I search for it.

Someone told me to go to Nitrado, which I found, but they're a whopping $32 per month for the lowest package. It's just the 3 of us, so I don't need anything crazy. Anyone found anything cheaper out there for a small group like us?

There's nothing cheaper. Wildcard gave server rights to Nitrado, and they control everything.

you can host a dedicated server on your pc or play non-dedicated with your friends

I wouldn't use Nitrado, I've used them before and they're very expensive and I had bad experiences with them.

You could try Undedicated Server which is hosted directly on your machine but... for how demanding ARK Ascended is, I don't think that option is thesis able at all for anyone to do that.

Personally ARK SA isn't in a state worth playing, at all at this moment unless you're playing Singleplayer. Which is why I'm just hanging out keep an eye on what's up.

I honestly think it could be a year or two if not more until ARK SA is to a point that makes it worth playing when compared to playing old ARK SE. There are so many things ARK SA just doesn't have including Cryo Pods that I just can not live without, let alone quality of life mods, like higher stack sizes. lol

Freeze when joining Servers Help.

*When joining a new server or joining to pick a spot to revive the game tends to freeze.
Go to video options and set your FPS to 30, and this should resolve this issue, which
you can set it back to 60+ after you have joined any server.

Yes, and providers other than Nitrado may start to offer services very soon.

Not sure why it's showing you 30+ I paid 21 for mine... not great but definitely better than 30...
