They are now brown with hard to see sparkles.
The devs basically took away the glowing dots that covered the pearl nodes in SE. They just look like clams now. Very hard to tell apart from the rocks, aside from being slightly shinier.
There also don't seem to be as many in the shallow water in that northwest cove. Or maybe it's just my imagination, since you can't see them all at once anymore with the new water effects.
There should be a ton more on the ocean bottom, since there were in SE. But I'm still too chicken to dive that deep. xD
Beaver dams have then added enough extra's to keep me going plus farming trilobites when I can.
