Sadly as much as you do not want to believe this is an issue with Steam and the Unreal game Engine for the most part. Many games on Unreal have slow updates, Conan, Atlas just 2 off top of my head.
If you go to Steam with this as I did year ago they will blame your PC or ISP, so I stopped. I have a 1yro Alienware with high mid tier hardware and still have this issue so not the PC. I have a completely different ISP now so not that. I can also go install a game and or update a game on Epic Game Store with absolutely no issues.
The only way that Steam will fix the issue is if enough people say something. Even original Ark had this issue. People blame the devs but they UPLOAD the data to Steam, Steam downloads it to you. Devs are not involved in it by the time you get the data.
you are misunderstanding how steam does it's thing and it's kinda weird how it displays. when it patches a game, it will show the size of the game on the right side of the bar but the actual download size is on the left. it will also show the unpacked size of a big download but that's not your download size, just the size of what you're working with.
it showed it on mine but it didn't redownload 70gb, it downloaded 300mb and patched it and was showing the size of the game it was patching
nah people who don't know anything about anything will still get on here and cry because that's how they solve problems, they cry until someone with a triple digit IQ comes along and takes pity on them. kinda like how a lost lamb just screams bloody murder until it either dies of shock or someone saves it, or a predator hears it and eats it but ♥♥♥♥ sapiens decided cannibalism wasn't cool after seeing what it did to the j- i mean, neanderthals
Game installed on SSD 600+ GB free.
Steam downloads Update to HDD - Datastorage = infinite Loop @2% on install.
This seems to be a "Steam sucks issue"
