Update just killed performance

Thanks Wildcard, I've been defending this game and I've been quite happily playing for over 10 hours with 1 Crash and a steady 40-50FPS. You release this update and now I'm forced down to 19 FPS. Thanks for ruining my experience.

UPDATE: For those who have the same issue, go into Settings and on the Right side "Disable HLOD" = On solved the performance problem for me.

UPDATE2: So the first update didn't actually fix the problem, It works for a few minutes then it just tanks. Yes I even reinstalled and deleted all my files to double check. So I'm downgrading the update.

Run: steam://open/console

Input this and wait: Downgrade the Update: download_depot 2399830 2399831 3509745286313325756

The one made 10 years ago was in UE4, you cant update from UE4 to UE5 you need to rebuild it. This is completely rebuilt and in EA for less than a day and a half.

To the console. And double check your RTX settings since those get adjusted with the Graphics "Low, Medium, High Epic" presets.

Are you fr my guy? I have a 4080, I can handle any game other than this unoptimised trash. Why would I need to go lower even more settings when i cant even get 60 fps on medium?

The game was made over 10 years ago and the exact same errors are present meaning they just copy pasted the whole thing as opposed to actually rewrite it and actually implement the fixes that couldnt in Ark 1. People are already duping, this was impossible to fix due to the coding... So when will they say the same about it for Ark II? "Sorry, the glitch is hard coded in and cant be fixed regardless that its a whole new game". (To OP since he likes to accuse others of misinformation when facts are presented.)

You must not be aware of how wild card had to customize UE4 just to make Ark work on it

I gained like 15-20 FPS average due to this update. Not complaining here. Runs great now.

Seems identical to me, but they've locked resolution scale to 64....cant change it now :(

As far i know the only think they did was the Dev Kit for modders, and that's a semplified version of UE4 to make mods.

"make Ark work on it" - "Work" is a big word.
WC are the people that gave up on the RWG because they couldn't manage to make it look at least decent, in 2023 you still have arrows that "stick" to a dino 3 meters away from its body or pass through its body, coudn't fix the duping because was impossible from how the game is coded, but somehow edited the engine? XD yeah...

Everyone decent at Wildcard must have quit the moment Ark1 went on EA lol

I'm also 99.9% sure duping is currently still going on.
