Dissappearing SP game files....

I've just loaded up the game and my single player game I started yesterday is no longer there.... anyone else experience this?

I've yet to check today. Fingers crossed it's there. Ark Survival used to maintain a backup of the last pre-existing save, and Ark Ascended does the same. I hope you can recover yours.

c:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ARK Survival Ascended\Shootergame\Saved\ArksLocal\The_Island\WP

The character and world are seperate files and, making a manual backup of the saves elsewhere, remove "bak" from the file names. It's a long time since I did this (years, tbh) but all being well it might fix it and if it doesn't, well, you're no worse off. Hope it goes to plan though!

I found out what it was, the section where it says join an existing or create a new ark you actually cant join an existing ark from there, you need to go back to the very first menu and click rejoin last session which would ultimately mean if you do start an SP then join a MP you would have lost your SP as you can only (as far as I can see) rejoin your last session.

I used to have several SP games going on in Ark, and was joining Unofficial servers too. I'm thinking of using the Svartheim(?) mod map the game shows so I'll see how that goes as regards multiple SP games. I'll back up the saved game files before I do so though!

Yeh that would be a good call, what I need is dedicated servers to be a thing then I will just host my own and manage it myself.

Yes, Dedicated is always a good idea. I just loaded the game and if you press Spacebar there's an option to Create (a game) or Resume, and my Island game was there to select. I'm downloading the Svartalfheim map in the game's mod menu and will start an additional SP game using that. I'm looking forward to it as it's a dwarven-themed map apparently, and it's a no-flyer map where fliers don't even spawn. Since Return to Moria looks a bit same old, same old survival game with a Tolkein theme pasted over it I hope to have fun with this map.

Sounds interesting, might have a little look at that one also.

I've been playing it and am around lvl 25 and really enjoying the map. I found Gold ore and there's Mithril out there too. I found a spot by accident near the end of a long bridge and I have a thatched base with the bridge being gated where my base wall is. It looks very cool. 😄

I have been searching for the answer to this question all day. I started a Single Player game a week and a half ago and now want to join a MultiPlayer, but wasn't sure how I would load the Single Player game again should I do that as I couldn't not see my game listed in the "create or resume game" screen. Was hoping I was just missing something. It seems dumb you can't have an Single Player game and an MP game at the same time. I want to play MultiPlayer but I don't want to lose my Single Player :( Hope they fix this soon.
