Where do I get metal?
Maybe it's because I never really played the Island map compared to Rag, but it seems metal is VERY scarce. The only locations with metal rocks I've found are the volcano/volcano base and one or two hills throughout the map. Add 50+ people to the mix..

All the places they used to be at, are empty. Mountain type areas in the south have zero, west have zero, east has like 2 hills in the swamp, didn't even see any on blue ob mountain.

For even one tribe to make a metal base, you need a big amount of cementing paste and metal. I don't think all the rocks on the map right now with 1x rates can sustain one large tribe

Yeah ASE was always a bit scarce for metal. Most of the peaks have the good boulders but otherwise it's pretty rare or in caves. It would be a bad move to make there be less in ASA if that's what they did.

I mean, they got rid of the oil rocks in the snow section so I think they may have changed the resource distribution although I can't be sure.

So where is the oil now then if not in the Snow??

For the time being I'm getting some from one of the caves in the south, though there wasn't that much there

There are some in the snow. They have these thin black horizontal stripes all over it

I think under the sea, in basilosaurous' inventories and from trilobites. No tek dinos so none from there either. I'm not 100% sure if that's all but that's pretty much all I can think of unless they moved them or they have some in caves.

My friend said there wasn't any in the snow so I could be mistaken but they were pretty sure they weren't there or at least not as commonly.

Go to where the west coast meets the ice, and then the big iceberg to the west. Those are the new oil rocks, idk how rare though

i love how this thread is the first on google and started out asking for metal then somehow now about oil XD.

they changed things a bit...

for metal, rounded river rocks give out more, than the random amount from regular ones.
there is also some coral etc under the water that will give metal and oil, aside from the usual places for oil. it looks like they pretty much made oil far more easier to get unless you wanted to play with penguins.
