Setting up your own Dedicated Server for Ark Survival Ascended

Dedicated Server for ASA
(to make and host your own Unofficial Dedicated Server, not using a hosting service)
First get the Dedicated Server files.

In the upper left corner of your steam library, under the Home, there is Games, Software, (dropdown filter), click it and check the box for Tools.
Now you will see ASA Dedicated Server show up on your list, download and install it. This is better and easier than using steamcmd, and it'll automatically update.

Now make a batch file, similar to Ark Survival Evolved, and put it in the same directory as the executable for the server or point it at its location in the batch file. The server files are located in SteamLibrary/Steamapps/Common/Ark Survival Ascended Dedicated Server/Shootergame/Binaries/Win64

Your batch file will run ArkAscendedServer and relevant config such as server name, password, ports, see guides for setting up Ark Survival Evolved for more info if needed.

steamcmd +login anonymous +force_install_dir [YOUR ARK ASA DIRECTORY] +app_update 2430930 +quit

Just change the bit in bold (including the square brackets) to whereever you want to install it, within your steamcmd directory.... you can also directly install the server with the same command!

I've set up my server and can join myself, but had a friend trying to join tonight (from external WAN) and he kept getting a connection timeout error. - he can see it in the server browser..I have ports 7777, 7778 and 27015 forwarded correctly (same setup worked fine for ASE!) and have checked his windows firewall is open....anyone got any ideas?!

I've not tried much in terms of settings (I deleted the player/tame level XP values) but can confirm that game.ini copied from ASE works, at least for the difficulty setting (i.e. before that, difficulty seemed to be at 1, meaning lvl1-30 wild dinos but with difficulty 5 they are now in increments of 5 (assuming max lvl 150)

Go in the game user settings and locate "ConsolAcsess" and change it to true, next check if u are really know the right admin passoword, its also located in the GameUserSettings, in my case the start.bat somehow set the whole: "ServerAdminPassword=<admin_password>?Port=<port>?QueryPort=<query_port>?" as the admin password so just delete the part thats not supposed to be there. next for testing u need to type "admincheat gcm" istead of just gcm

I'm having this same issue but everytime I restart the server it does this. And I have zero admin access. I just don't know what to do anymore.

Does anyone know where to change settings regarding the dedicated server once its installed and running? I got my dedicated server on a separate pc running and I join just fine. BUT, I can't find the Game.ini file that offers the option to change baby mature speed, xp multipliers, harvest multiplier etc...

I found the gameusersettings.ini but that does not offer those options to be changed.

Any help with this or a link would be wonderful!

hi i did all things the tutorial seid and Forwardet all Ports i need but i cant see the server not in the local net or over the internet Does anyone have an idea how I can solve my problem?

I'm testing this now. I've followed the instructions and have the server up and running. Can I ask: will this automatically close the server and update it when the game receives an update? Is this all I need for a hands-off dedicated server that will self-update when needed?

I have it running on a micro PC using Steamcmd. It has 12 GB. for me, my son, an a couple of buddies, it is running fine.
