Remaster of ARK 1 (which is now officially only available in very specific ways or offline)
Mostly its graphical updates and use of UE5
Take it with a grain of salt.
It's a remake
Remaster takes old graphics and touches up textures up to modern standards
A remake uses new or old assets and bring them up to modern graphic standards.
Why so many people are upset their video cards can't handle an unoptimized next-gen remake of an already buggy game.
nope it is an updated Ark Survival Evolved with a the new game engine. It does have all previous A-SE DLC's with it but if you already own that and all teh DLC's then forking out that price for something you already own is a no no.
Probably wait for a 50-60% discount or better before i even contemplate it and by then maybe all these game issues that A-SE had when it launched (for its first year or 2) would be ironed out a bit (probably not).
I bet when Ark 2 comes out the official servers will cease for this game and be moved to Ark 2 anyways (just like they were with A-SE to A-SA).
I guess I agree I just don't like that they weren't upfront about it. Also, I think it's def worth it if all the DLCs will be free imo. But again just kinda irks me that we were told one thing and it was changed last min
