Textures and models not loading if my textures are set to anything below epic.
Hey, terrain / foliage textures do not load and a lot of models are use low-poly LOD versions of themselves if my textures arent set to epic. The water's ripples completely disappear too and for example chitin, flak and hide armor do not load the model properly either, just if i open my inventory. Anyone know a fix for that? I tried validating.

This exact same thing is happening to me and it's extremely frustrating. I think the shadows are also broken somewhat.

Anything under epic completely breaks textures. I can't find a solution to this issue. I have another friend that happened to get the issue once but then it fixed after loading into the game again.

I have a 3060 laptop GPU with 6gb vram.

Please let everyone know if you find a solution!
did you fix it? bc i have the same problem...

Well I have got the same problem as well, also with 3060 laptop GPU and in the end I somehow turned the textures on , but I am not really sure, if it is the right way how to fix it, because I don´t really understand how U5 works, so please keep this in mind, when you will try this

I found on youtube some tutorial for U5, where I found that it has probbably something to do with texture streaming
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8PQcrntLZ1E

What I have done
1. turn on console in game
2. type : r.TextureStreaming 0
3. game shutters but after some time the textures apears

Warning
However my FPS droped and when I change texture setting the quality of that texture is practically same in every setting. If you want to turn it of simply type r.TextureStreaming 1!
So in the end if someone find better solution please let us know.

So I'm having the same sort of issue, but my GPU has only 6GB VRAM so I assumed it was that. For me Low doesn't load beach textures at all, just a yellow blur, but Medium+ works (although I see no difference on High, probably outta memory).

This isn't something you want to do to fix it because it attempts to load all the textures into VRAM and our cards don't have anywhere near enough. It's worse than just trying to run on epic texture setting.

if your system is struggling, start with the graphics preset because it changes things you can't change individually in-game. every setting that was in ASE is in ASA but some aren't selectable by themselves and are rolled either into post-processing or advanced graphics settings. if your card is older than 3 years, i'd just start at low preset and adjust individual things up, global illumination should stay epic, textures should stay epic and from there, you can go up on the preset and change individual things until you get to the point your FPS is lower than you like. if you start medium and do some down/some up then you'll end up with a mess where expensive settings are on and inexpensive settings are off and even though it says medium, it's more like a low/high combo.

if your card is older than a 2000 series then you lack DLSS which is basically a must have nowadays to get the most out of graphics settings. it's ability to downscale as you run then scale back up the second you stop moving creates headroom where there wouldn't be otherwise. you run out of headroom in new games, you crash or textures bork out

Ah that makes sense, thanks for the info. BTW i am using a 2060 but its obv not enough :) I did manage to get it somewhere playable and semi-good looking by setting texture to epic, global illumination and shadows to high, and dlss to performance. I did use the medium preset tho, so im going to try it out on low. Thanks! :LittleBone:

ive found the problem its the "Textures" option if below the setting Epic its gonna show the textures on crack ive been trying to get it to higher than 60 fps by putting everything on low and viewing distance to meduim and the Textures to epic and the resolution completely down

seems like the devs put the textures below epic to a potato version which seems really dumb they actually have to optimize that

Have the exact same issue, but with a rtx 4050. I could run the game with 60fps, but the texture would not be there. Gonna try that thanks

Since my last post I have found out that lowering view distance helps atleast the water texture load properly, but the creature / armor models and ground textures are still not loading properly. Also, as the other guy said, try using lower presets for starting cuz it changes a lot of settings you cant. Hope this helps

This fixed it for me! I was stuck with looking at low poly dinos from the thorny dragon size and below and even being forced to use a mod to physically remove the broken dinos cause it just bugged me so much. But THIS--THIS FIXED IT. Thank you ;w;

To fix rock, ground, water, stars textures not loading in correctly..

Console command:

r.Streaming.PoolSize 0

Please refer to where I found the fix

I didn't have this issue before the ab update even using texture streaming isn't a suitable fix since it only fixes the textures not any of the broken models as well as absolutely tanking fps. Doesn't seem to have any relation to graphics card either since I'm using a 3070 full sized card (granted it is squeezed into a NUC that uses laptop components for everything else). Is everyone with this issue using a laptop or PC with laptop components? Is that maybe a reason why?
