RTX Super Resolution improves frames but resets after any setting change

Playing on a laptop with a 2070 and could keep a decent 30 FPS on the low preset but when setting the RTX super resolution setting to ultra performance, I can get 40-50 FPS at otherwise the same settings without any noticeable loss in quality.
However, changing literally any other setting, even camera FOV, resets the super resolution setting and reduces the frames again. Seems like this is probably bugged.

Just wanted to post that if you're trying to get more frames, try setting this to ultra performance but make sure its the last thing you change in options, otherwise it resets and you have to change it again.

Ultra performance DLSS at 4k means you are running the game at 720p. More frames, sure. Good frames, not even a little bit.

Running i7 9700K, 32GB RAM, 2070 Super Clock on and SSD.
All I did was set everything to high, turn down foliage to Med, turn on DLSS with Balanced as the setting and turn off the volumetric clouds with r.volumetricCloud 0 entered in the console.
Getting constant 45-55 FPS even in dense forest
