I hope this has the dlc expansions for free.
I'm going to laugh if we have to buy everything again.

Are game companies making the same game full priced again but on a better engine now?

not yet but coming soon apparently. only one map so far. it'd be real sh*tty if they had a change of plans and decided to charge us for the dlcs again but i guess we'll wait and see if they jump at the opportunity.

This is from their EA-section here in the shop:
"We also plan to have the previously released free DLC available: The Center, Ragnarok, Valguero, Crystal Isles, Lost Island, and Fjordur. Each of these respective maps will receive one completely new creature nominated by the community.

We also plan to add new original story content to ASA that will be tied to future story-themed DLC, as well as new gameplay and content additions to the overall product that isn’t available on Day One.”

It just sucks that IF other companies see this game they're probably going to have the same mindset and do what these people did.
I don't think I ever see any game that got merged into a new engine.
It sucks that instead of them to update their base game, They make the same game instead.
People ofc will buy this because we have dumb people.

You get all DLCs included in the 40 dollar price + each map gets new community voted dino. Thats 11 dinos + free maps get reworked too somewhere in between

If you search for "extinction" you will find a threat where somebody states that the devs have said that the paid DLC maps will be included, as well.
At the moment, I am searching for the clear quote somewhere where we can consider it as official.

I checked it. It's a quote from the Steam shop and can thus be considered as official.

You are worried other companies might learn what a remaster is? Why are people acting like companies haven't been doing remakes/remasters since the ps3/360 era? Did you miss metal gear solid 3 remake they showed like 5min before ark in the preview yesterday? Not even counting the MGS3 remake, they are also putting the MGS3 HD(remaster from the ps3/360 era) on steam too lol

Yes, you are right, that there have been many remakes in the last two decades. But you can not really deny that the gaming market has been becoming more and more shady and sometimes plain greedy, in the last years, can you?

Additionally, I doubt that the rise of such business behavior will work in a linear manner. It seems logical, that it will rather have the form of a exponential curve, which would mean, that there can be SOME individuals existent who do act in a certain way, and if additional ones are lining in, not much happens, but as soon as a certain threshold has been reached, the numbers suddenly are "exploding".

I mean, Ark survival evolved released 7 years ago. Dead space was released 15 years ago so it got a re-make because it was made that long ago.
We need a law to make games that can have a remake, remaster 12 years after the first game release. (If it needs one)

A lot of people are mad because, This game getting a re-make/remaster, (Tbh, idk if it's completely changed) too early and it doesn't even look different. I agree with Herr Morlock, A lot of game companies these days are just greedy, Selfish. Game's aren't games anymore, Games are a way to easily make money.

You want to know what really grinds my gears though? They just updated from UE4 to UE5 and want to charge people again.... In the future of this game, Meaning, We will get UE5 to UE6 and the cycle repeats.
I wish many video game companies would just make a game and just merge to an updated engine and make it better than making a "new" game on an updated engine
