That's the biggest problem for me. Forests are unplayable.
They use Lumen, and its VERY glitchy. At certain times of day the shadow areas tries to light up and do bounced lighting, but it fades in and out, so it looks like someone is turning a lightsource on and off, VERY distracting.
This happens on all settings, u can play for hours without it happening, but it will happen on occasion. Its a dev problem, not us.
I've looked for several hours and everything looks good with them. For me it's unplayable after just 15 minutes because I can't see anything anymore.
Though I don't have the flickering on any other setting for some reason, though people here are saying everyone has the issue.
Tbf, my bigger gripe is with the weird shadow cut-off at about 20 meters out that goes across the horizon. It was an issue with ASE too but I have never been able to figure out what causes it.
No matter what setting I change, and yes I have tried extensively, I can't get rid of it. Also it only happens at sunrise and sunset, odd to say the least.
When gaming, have to switch my G32QC to "FPS" mode.
If I leave it on "Standard", the shadows are Vantablack dark.
A Giga & a Brachio could be standing just inside the shadow of the treeline & I'd see nothing.
Oh & about some of those odd flashes...
My SP game crashed & hung during one yesterday.
I think some of these flashes & crashes might be due to a momentary conflict on camera position.
Why do I say that?
Because what was hung on my screen was a 1st person view from just inside the model's face.
I had Geforce Experience optimize the game settings for my card, and ran it with those settings. That worked, and I'm back to a playable experience. Have no idea what settings were changed though.
