That worked for me. No more crashes when opening or closing the crafting menu or inventory. Thank you very much.. finally I can play it
The crashes consistently happen when I am interacting with storages or crafting stations, and only then. Earlier, I was getting ready to go tame an Argentavis and I just wanted to grab something out of a storage. Moused over an item I wanted to grab, and crashed. I think I was crafting some narcotics at the same time, so the crash might be related to that.
Yesterday, I had 3 crashes in the span of 30 minutes and they were all exactly like that. Then I didn't crash for the rest of the day. Those crashes did seem to be related to crafting stations, because I was not crashing for the first 2 hours while I was running around leveling up and gathering resources to craft tools/armor and build my first base. But as soon as I had the base built and started using crafting stations, I started crashing.
they did release a patch maybe that is causing the problem, idk.
as im writing this i see they released another patch, hopefully it fixes it.
update: now i dont recieve anymore engram points when leveling up... :(
In addition, this has happened once while renaming dinos. I was naming my dinos and on the 4th one in a row the game froze on the dino radial menu.
I do have menu transitions disabled but I have not tried disabling the steam overlay. Other than this issue and a problem with some dinos clipping into the ground under my base (I have an entire pack of Dilophosaurs under my base), the game has run fine for me.
Click on the Compatibility tab.
Check the box next to Run this program in compatibility mode for and select Windows 7 from the drop-down menu.
Click on Apply and then click on OK.
Launch the game to see if the error has been resolved.
It worked for a friend.
Looks like it might be a DX12 issue. Launching it with DX11 forced does seem to stop the crashing (but the game then does look like poo)
Add "-force -dx11 -high" within advanced launch options in steam if you want to try. (right click game in library > Properties)
it crashed again :((
