Can’t harvest from kills

Was anyone able to harvest from the animals they kill? Whenever I killed a DoDo or anything it wouldn’t let me hit it once it was dead.
Only time I was able to harvest meat was when my own tame died (a baby raptor I found that I was able to imprint on)
Just wondering if this is a bug or if they changed the way to collect meat and hide
Axe and pic axe still say they are used for meat and hide ?

This is also happening to me. How do you harvest hide now? IS there a tutorial or is this part of the game not working. I am playing on solo mode on my PC.

no its a bug, it doesnt happen all the time but I have had it happen. Specially if u use a tame to kill them.

You can harvest from kills, the "hitboxes" are just messed up. Killed some Dilos for example and the harvestable "body" was a few feet away from where the corpse was.
It's a nightmare to harvest anything while on a Raptor at the moment, but they do fine as soon as you dismount.
Guess for now it's the best to have some meat eaters close by to harvest your kills for you.

There is a setting in game where you can change the hit box. I wonder if that will help, believe its under settings/game

Make sure you are in first person view. Third person does not allow harvesting kills.

ive been having better luck the last few times ive played. another thing thats also helped is if i can grab it and drag it a little away itll let me harvest

Yeah, I'm having a problem harvesting small carcasses. I think they need to make the hitbox on them bigger. Also when I kill a small dino that my Argie has picked up the carcass floats in the air and I can't harvest it when it's a small one.

I think they also need to re-enable accessing our bodies inventory. I ran to my dead body and needed to chop it up to get my inventory. Thankfully I died closed to my base so I could run back for one.

This problem exists for wild Dino corpses and your own corpse when attempting to recover. Pretty much unplayable without being able to recover your corpse. Bolas do tend to leave Corpses harvestable.
