Lumen (UE5) has software ray tracing built in. RTX is Nvidia marketing shait/proprietary tech.

just run it on low i heard frame generation is busted dont know if that is true or not i could use dlss on my 3080 ti but it made it blurry so i turned it off

Try to lessen cluttering and distance. And shadows, it can help A LOT

Anything lighting related to medium, then work your way up there. Maybe drop shadow related settings as well. Some good theories here about lumen/nanite use, need more time tweaking/fiddling with settings to know more.

Hardware ray tracing is not "propriety" AMD is just too many years behind to implement it properly. It's accessed via a hardware-agnostic API, DXR, part of Direct X. Some day all hardware will use it once AMD can afford the R&D $$$.

In this game, the RTX tab is for various DLSS features, which is proprietary to Nvidia yeah.

RTX = Nvidia branded Hardware Ray-Tracing solution. Not RT in itself.

No, it includes DLSS and other things as well, as you can see in this game.

There's nothing proprietary about hardware ray tracing, it is accessed through DXR like I said. Nothing is stopping AMD from making proper DXR support and they will some day.

DLSS is on the RTX Tab in the Video settings. Frame Gen is busted at the moment.

the "Advanced graphics" setting from what i can tell is whats adjusting Lumen.

i have rtx 3090
i dont have rtx tab in video setting

With Lumen I would def recommend not going above high. Epic settings looks better, though its minimal, where as performance drop is real. Medium lighting settings, if I remember correctly, outright disables lumen.

Shadows is probably the biggest thing here though, especially with the foliage density that ark has.

I havent been able to trst any settings myself yet, but those two (probably mostly shadows) is most likely to be the biggest performance killers.

Yes, that was not the point though. RTX was, and still is Nvidia brand shait, and they market it as such. Like "NVIDIA RTX™ —the first-ever real-time ray tracing GPU", and the tech in question is RT cores and Tensor Cores. You misunderstood my original post.
