dedicated servers for self hosting?

are we gonna get dedicated servers for self hosting at all or is this just going to be nitrado only, if so this game despite the good graphics is not worth the buy to begin with, as this is what made the game great and gave it a huge following was the freedom of mods and self hosting of a server to play with friends, if this does not carry over from the old to the new it will fail...

You'll need to add TamingSpeedMultiplier=<tamingspeed> into your GameUserSettings.ini in the Config Files section of the Nitrado dashboard

Because Snail Games owes them millions of $$ and part of their agreement to negotiate the debt was to make ASA exclusive to Nitrado. This is pretty old news at this point, seems many people missed it over the past couple months. And I suspect most peoples two hour refund window will be long passed before they find out.

When you purchase ARK: Survival Ascended on Steam at launch, you can create one PC private server (“Steam server”) for free use, allowing you to invite friends or other community players to share experiences across the revamped ARK maps.

Good enough for me. Hope they release it soon.

Guy's, they not releasing the dedicated server files, it's like the game SCUMM, they have the rights to the server files for years now... refunded the game, this one died for me!!

If that's good enough for you, then more power to you, I honestly wish you the best of luck. I personally currently run 8 servers across 3 clusters (2 different TCs and a Vanilla) for a small community that doesn't come CLOSE to the 10,000 members required for a licence from Nitrado. Paying $25 a month for each of those is just not sustainable. Charging for access if not an option for us, either. Unless this policy changes, which I doubt it will, we'll likely stay on ASE.

But unofficial server/cluster communities want to offer an ASA server for their members.

not 100% sure because the update wasn't worded the best but looks like we might still be bale to host servers through nitrado. still wouldn't recommend getting a server though way overpriced.

To get those community servers, you need an ACTIVE community of 10k members or more, otherwise you're up for $25/mo per server from Nitrado.

Anyone able to download and selfhost on their own dedicated server yet? I've tried using app ID 2399830 but steamCMD shoots back that there is no subscription available.

Not available yet, and it will be one server per account.

Instead of logging in with steam anonymously with steamCMD; looks like if you login to your actual account you can download the server. :)

You are only allowed to host one single server for each bought game and you can't download the server files anonymously anymore. Beside that it seems that the server files are not published yet.

I found a screenshot today which includes a discord message from NitradoMark saying: „ Thanks for your patience; It will still be allowed to self hosting PC servers either on your own PCs or rented baremetal/vps so this will not change“
Maybe wait for wildcard to give us a statement about it
