SSD required!
Officially it says the game is 70gb and an SSD is required!
Also minimum specs are kinda harsh! Hopefully my PC can still run it comfortably.

I have an RX 5600 XT, also 1080 was the top of the line when ASE was in it's peak and now it's minimum.

TBH the specs are higher then average but they are not terribly harsh for a modern PC. large scale survival games do require more power then other games.

Trueee having a fully HDDless PC is real cheap nowadays. Hopefully loading times are very short

step 1. lower settings to medium step 2. switch to windowed step 3. reduce window size to fit in just the middle of your screen step 4. adjust resolution to fit decent quality dont worry about specs

I am using a mid gaming rig with a RX 480 / 8 gb of ram and with 16 gb of ram
on my mob.
At first I had only one ssd and a regular hdd as secondary for games, ark running
off the hdd kept my settings running on mid to high. But after adding a second
ssd and I* installed ark in that ssd. My settings are now running on Epic and high.

Not sure if you know this, but if you mod games its never a good idea to install them
on your C drive, just like skyrim and other games we love to mod it is always a
good idea to install games that will be modded on a second drive.

Being that I do mod my ark i do needed a second ssd and have ark run from
this drive and not my C drive.

I got my 2tb ssd from amazon for $60, worth every $ dollar.

Sounds good! Btw you can put your games and mods in C drive just not in protected files. But I agree I don't like having large games and such on my C drive so I throw them in other drives and 2tb SSD for $60, That's a great deal!
